Want to buy a solid wood TV unit -any reccommendations?
Have now sold enough things on ebay so that I can now afford to replace my nasty looking tv unit. Can anyone reccommend a good cheap furniture outlet? I quite like the plain, chunky looking units (like the picture below), but they tend to only be available in Oak & out of my price range (of max £200). I don't know why you…

Hi peeps New year resolution is to put into practise all the things I've picked up on here, instead of just thinking "oh, that sounds good" and then carrying on going to Sainsburys twice a week for rubbish!:o I like Sainsburys (as I literally live 500 yards away) or Tesco, but also have an Asda and Morrisons on my way home…

The Tesco website is showing Dentastix reduced to £5, but they're not in the store. I'll ask next time I'm in, but has anyone else bumped into offers online that aren't available in a normal Tesco store?

Buying Past It's Sell by Date Food
Hi There I read about a website on MSE that sells 'past it's sell by date' food. I wonder if there would be a market for this sort of thing on the High Street!? What do big supermarkets do with food 'past it's sell by date'? Throw it in the bin I imagine!? Anyway, if someone wants to open a shop selling out of date food -…

This is my TOP tip for you dudes
When you go to a supermarket, DON'T BUY the item at the front, always reach to the back and grab that item (perishable stuff). Today i went to Co-Op, the item at the front had a best before date of 7th Feb., the same item at the back had a best before date of 17thFeb.!!!:money: Leave the short dated stuff for the dunces!!

Fridge freezer with a BIG freezer?
Hi! My fridge freezer has packed up :( I am looking to replace it with a new one, but I really want to maximise my freezer space. Does anyone know which models have the biggest freezers? It has to be under 60 cm wide because that is all the space will allow. I am searching the internet but I am finding that a lot of the…

Amazon returns
Does anyone know where consumer rights stand on returns policies? Who does the 12 month warranty responsibility lay with if something goes wrong? I wanted to return an external hard drive to Amazon.co.uk because of fault but was told my '30 day return' has expired. Surely I am covered by the warranty? So is it now down to…

Expert hagglers needed for an Observer article
A journalist from the Observer is a doing feature on haggling with your current mobile/etc provider, to get better deal. Cheap Sun Cream in Tescos
Hello I was in Tescos today (Surrey Quays, SE London) and they have a lot of very cheap sun cream. It is all marked as discontinued. Most of it is around the 75p mark for a 200ml bottle which is good value. It is mostly their own brand and they have lots of choice, normal, sensitive, kids, after sun etc and in all the main…

Long underwear
What are the best options for everyday long underwear. I'm wearing long johns right now bought for 2.50 a shot (uppers and lowers separate purchases) from Primark. They seem fine. If I go online, I find various options, such as "ski" underwear, but they are generally expensive. So what is out there between the extremes of…

Hyperfi (?) - Ad in the London Metro
Hello, Has anybody been to this company's shop in Ilford? I believe the name is "Hyperfi", mainly electrical goods, TVs, HiFi's etc. They seem to advertise in the London Metro freebie paper most days. This morning had the usual Sony 42" graded/ex-display plasma/LCD TV's for £399 or similar. I am guessing that a visit to…
