Jaffa Cakes

I was doing my online shop today and added the normal 2 packs of smartprice jaffa cakes to the basket when I suddenly saw that the Mcvities single pack was 43p compared to the smartprice pack of what is now 50p. I couldn't believe that the cheapy label was now dearer than what I call the top brand! And the smartprice was even less in weight than Mcvities!
Anyone else notice that it's actually not as cheap anymore to but own brands and sometimes think to yourself you may as well buy the posh one for the difference of a couple of pence?

If this was Sainsbury's online shopping, then Mcvities Jaffa Cakes are half price just now for single packs, which would explain them being cheaper! If it's not Sainsbury's then I don't know the solution to the mystery I'm afraid!0

nope it's asda and the mcvities are normal price and they are still cheaper than the smartprice ones!0

oh yeah I just had a look, how strange, especially to see that 2 packs of mcvitie ones are £1.67, whereas one is only 43p like you said! They must have just mixed the prices up I guess
I'd stock up! 0 -
I was in sainsburys last night and they had Jaffa Cakes on offer at half price but I didn't notice how much. You have to keep an eye on these basics/smart price/value things as they keep pushing prices up. Last night Sainsburys Basics Beans were 29p per tin! Not my kinda basic price!:j0
