Redundancy and local Government/Public Sector Employment
I'm being made redundant from a LA. Does anyone know how long before I can be a) re-employed by a LA (not necessarily the same one) without losing any redundancy payment b) are there any restrictions on joining another public sector body and losing rights to redundancy money? Thanks.

This loan is actually in my mothers name (the car is registered to me) as i was unable to get the loan in my name at the time. Will the insurer pay out this? Im really…

Question about Employment Tribunal Proccedure
Hi I would be most grateful if anybody could help with the puzzling situation that I am in. I am in the midst of an employment tribunal claim, involving two "sister" companies - owned by the same directors and managed by the same individual. In October 2010, the Tribunal granted me (the Claimant) an "Order to Inspect…

any advice greatly appreciated
Hi I'm just looking for a bit of advice to see if it's worth speaking to a solicitor and where we go from here - if anywhere! Hubby was made redundant a while ago along with about 30 others. Things were done a bit sloppily by the company and one of those made redundant, a friend of hubby's, decided that he wanted to pursue…

Voluntary redundancy and unemployment benefit?
Hi, one of my friends is in a jump or be pushed situation at her council, but is unsure if she would get any benefits if she takes voluntary redundancy, so I thought I'd ask you lovely people! If she takes voluntary she'd get around £7500, but if she waits for the axe to fall in about 8 months time she'd only get around…

Is this a threat?
I have been sent a letter for Voluntary Redundancy. They sent it the day after they heard my results from the hospital, which was bad news, i have been having mini strokes, i have been ill for 6 months and have been having time off, i am not well whatsoever, and really do not need the stress. The bottom of the letter it…

Advice on voluntary redundancy needed.
I need some advice for my Dad, so hoping someone can help :) He has worked for his employer for years, but has been laid off and taken back on in the past. His current length of service runs from April 2001. His employer told the workers (5 or 6 of them) a couple of weeks ago that he was going to have to lay them off. They…

TUPE & Moving location
Hi guys. My employment was tupe'd a few weeks ago. The new company is located approx 40 miles further away. Hi Guys, I have recently learnt that my employer is facing a Winding up petition. I've been reading as much as I can but really need some help with this. I understand an administrator will be appointed - what happens after that? Would the company be kept going - try to sell it etc? What about being made redundant - who…

Voluntary redundancy - selection criteria?
I was told yesterday that either myself or another girl I work with are going to be made redundant, but in the first instance they are looking for volunteers. I have already volunteered, but from talking to my work colleague, I get the impression she also wants to volunteer, but she is taking some more time to think about…

what do you do when the process is causing unmanageable stress?
I'm in a position where I will almost certainly have to be made redundant. It's a complex situation, which I can't go into publicly on this kind of forum. But the main thing is that I have a psychiatric disability - depression, and additional symptoms from childhood trauma. The Voluntary Redundancy process is being even…

When to sign on after being made redundant?
Due to the government cuts within the NHS our department is being closed down which is very sad for patients plus us! Those who are on temporary contracts have been told these will cease end of June this year. Permanent contract staff can stay but as to what we will be doing is another question and for how long nobody…

Does anyone have any questions to ask in your redundancy 1-1
25 of us have been told we're going to be made redundant. Half because our dept is moving abroad, the other half because most of their work will be done by people abroad remotely, the other by a glorified courier. Having been TUPE'D twice within the organisation and not well treated we're making sure the company follows…
