JSA - do we qualify?
Can anyone answer a quick question about JSA please? If someone gets made redundant we understand that they can claim contribution based JSA for six months based on their NI contributions, regardless of if they have savings or not, but ... if at the same time they start to get their pension paid early because of redundancy…

Is this unfair dismissal?
The day after I was made redundant a new role was created which I would have applied for if I was made aware of it during consultation, but I was not. Is that unfair dismissal? I was made aware of a few roles (one of which was half my job) but they all involved a huge pay decrease. All thoughts appreciated!

is there a time limit for being laid off?
I got laid off form work in the last week of november, at the time i was informed it was because of how much snow we had. Perfectly understandable, as i was in the groundworks business, and you can't see what you doing on the ground in 2 feet of snow. As we had a bad winter, i hadn't been back to work by christmas, then…

Ex gratia payment and pensions
I'm being made redundant and am taking voluntary early retirement in May. I'm over 55. I hear that from April, there is a limit to the amount (above the first £30,000) of any ex gratia payment that you can transfer tax free into your pension scheme (pension augmentation). Has anyone got details of this? Thanks.

Redundancy vs Notice period
Hi there. I was wondering what the difference is between notice period and redundancy? I have read my contract and it says that after 1 year's service they have to give me 3 months notice. Now if they do want to get rid of me, does this mean in theory that I would get 3 months notice where I would still have to work for…
