Redundancy vs Notice period

Hi there.
I was wondering what the difference is between notice period and redundancy?
I have read my contract and it says that after 1 year's service they have to give me 3 months notice.
Now if they do want to get rid of me, does this mean in theory that I would get 3 months notice where I would still have to work for them if they wanted + statutory redundancy? Or does the 3 month notice include redundancy?
Thanks

They are seperate.
Statutory redundacy kicks in after 2 years.0 -
they would need to pay you 3 months notice + redundancy, and could ask you to work the 3 months, unless both parties agreed to amend that
however with limited service redundancy may = zeroDebt free 4th April 2007.

Hi thanks.
I thought redundancy kicks in after 1 year?"Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0 -
Ok, so that means I would get nothing for working less than two years?
Thanks for all your help0 -
