SAR and PPI
Hi, I'm about to lodge a PPI claim against Bank of Scotland for PPI on two credit cards that I was told I had to take at the point of sale. One of the card was closed in 2009 and all I have for that is a statement showing credit care being taken, the original account number and account number at the time it was closed (it…

FOS - lost documentation
Hello This is my first post and to be honest I am at the end of my tether! I have reclaimed around £10k of mis-sold PPI over the past 2-years so have a little experience in this area. In May 2012 I obtained a rejection and final letter from a broker in relation to Mortgage PPI, on the 17 May 2012 I posted the required…

Fees' Do we have to pay?
Any advice/comments? After much hounding we decided to take up the offer of help from 'The Claims Guys'! (we didn't realise you could do it yourself until it was too late!). Anyway we have been paid out by 2 lenders. The 2nd lender is taking their time. (we have already paid CG's their fee for 1st lender) But the CG's have…

PPI - Silent treatment from Halifax
I filed my PPI claim for my Halifax credit card about six weeks ago now. I received the acknowledgement letter after just a few days, and since then I have heard nothing from them. I thought they had to send a holding letter after 4 weeks, and reach a decision within 8 weeks, is that right? Should I get in contact with…

Financial Ombudsman
Hi I'm new to this, so please bear with me. Has anyone followed Martin's tips / advice for reclaiming PPI's on credit cards / loans etc.. But then had to go to the FSO, & then been told by them, it is highly unlikely the claim will be successful?!! I'm really confused, FSO advised about my mortgage PPI's, that Halifax were…

Fallen at the first hurdle!
I took out a loan with NatWest on 17 Jul 2001 and on looking at Martin's advice re PPI wrote to them requesting a copy of the Credit Agreement. they have just replied saying that they have misfiled the Loan Agreement Form and are unable to locate it. Can I do anything else to see if there is PPI on the loan?

CPP do I qualify
I definitely had, for some years, CardGuard protection with HSBC, I cannot remember what particular years I had it, although I do know it was outside the automatic qualifying dates. Quote from MSE: CPP will only write to those it soldproducts to between January 2005 and March 2011. However, if you believe youwere mis-sold…

Help, what do I do next?
Hi, I hope someone can advise me what to do next. Basically I sent Halifax 2 separate credit card PPI claims on 22/2/13, I received the confirmation of receipt on the claim on 27/2/13. I then received a letter rejecting my claim on 1 of the cards on 21/3/13, but didn't receive anything regarding the other card. I then…

HSBC PPI: Totally Confused!
Bear with me, this is a saga: Received a letter from HSBC saying I was owed PPI. Filled in the form, got offered £1,904. Which I accepted. They then wrote back to me saying the money was being paid direct to Hamptons/Lowell (as I have an outstanding debt with them, which I am paying off). However, the money was not sent.…

PPI calculations on paid off loans etc
Ok, I am trying to find out roughly what I could be owed on loans since 2000 and how PPI works when you pay off a loan...... My wife had a loan for £4000 and was sold PPI, even though she was a student......we consolidated our debts in 2005 with a loan of £7500 and then again took out a large loan in 2007 of…

CPP claim: Martin's template letter
I have read all that MSE says on the CPP saga. I believe that I fall into the category where the template letter to bank would be the way to go. Took out a CPP policy for card protection, in April 2003 and cancelled it over the phone just in time to stop the direct debit in 2012. I have a list of all the escalating renewal…

Thank You MSE and All posters....

After reading about the many experiences of other posters i decided to fill in the form and return (recorded delivery as advised on here). My complaint was…

I upgraded online to select account some time ago, after reading about claiming back these fees I wrote to Lloyds asking for the fees back, they have responded by saying that because I upgraded online I have no claim, because it was not sold face to face, does this really apply??. I am thinking of taking my claim to FOS…

Ppi on consolidation loan question
Hi Looking for a bit of advice please. I've had a letter from HSBC stating that I might have been misssold ppi. It doesn't give a date or loan number, just a reference number. Which relates to a loan taken out in 2005. This prompted me to dig out the paper work, as I previously didn't think I could claim on loans where I…
