FOS - lost documentation

Hello
This is my first post and to be honest I am at the end of my tether!
I have reclaimed around £10k of mis-sold PPI over the past 2-years so have a little experience in this area.
In May 2012 I obtained a rejection and final letter from a broker in relation to Mortgage PPI, on the 17 May 2012 I posted the required questionnaire, covering letter and copies of my correspondence with the broker who sold me the Mortgage PPI directly to the FOS. I did not get a receipt of posting.
Due to the FOS workload I did not chase my complaint until January 2013, over the cut-off 6 month time limited.
Since this date I have provided copy after copy of the same documentation to the FOS, as it appears they have lost my original documentation. However, I know they hold some of the original documentation as they provided copies to me for signing and they show my writing detailing the various Appendices.
Anyway, my original questionnaire was not signed as I considered my covering letter enough and that the questionnaire just collected the information in a format required by the FOS (I could kick myself now......!!).
The FOS has now approached the broker regarding my complaint and the broker has requested a copy of the original letter - which is obviously lost!
My question is - can I reopen my case with the broker and start the process again or am I stuffed? If anyone has any ideas this would be great.
Regards

A rejected outcome is not unexpected. Most MPPi complaints fail. Adviser related PPI complaints are rare at the FOS (something like just 1%) and most get rejected. The main area of issue with MPPI is where it is single premium (most of those get upheld). My question is - can I reopen my case with the broker and start the process again or am I stuffed?
As you are past the 6 months, it is up to the broker to volunteer whether they will allow you to re-open the case.
How you made the complaint does not matter. Email, phone, letter, FOS form etc. All have to be accepted. I dont know why the broker has requested the letter as surely they must have a record of the complaint and dates on file. And as they can just activate the timebar on you this seems a pointless request.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
