Refused refund for chilled goods - Asda
Hi guys, so I recently bought 4 asda own brand pizzas which were the wrong type. When I tried to change it (two days later), I was refused on that they dont take back chilled goods because they would have to chuck them away. Is this asda's actual policy? Also, if I said I wasn't "satisfied" with their pizza, what…

Supermarket pre packaged £1 goods
Noticed most supermarkets are increasingly promoting pre packaged items at a one off price of £1. So thought I would do a price comparison as thought it would cost more to buy individually. So bought the equivalent amount of tomatoes you would get in the ready wrapped tray and was astonished to find it came to 30p. These…

B&Q Out of Stock
For the last week I have been trying to purchase an outdoor dining set from B&Q. I know it's spring so many people are doing the same thing, but on at least three different occasions we have made a reservation, got a confirmation email, then the next day had a telephone call from the store telling us it's actually out of…

Ocado 'discount' added back on
If you're an Ocado customer watch out - 4 times (minimum) this year when buying 'discounted' meat - the discount was never actually applied. Their response "sorry there is a glitch on our system" I can't believe I'm the only one this has happened to so please do check your receipts!

Caroline bl**dy Quentin
So it seems that Caroline Quentin is the new darling of the voice overs. Nothing against her personally, but I just find her voice annoyingly sing-song and patronising. There have been loads of interesting looking documentaries on TV lately, but have had to pass as she seems to be narrating the lot of them! That is all!:D…

Unfortunately the nice family that lived there moved away and the council have been in there for months decoration and doing it up (curtains and dish clothes an all !!?!) To my dismay they moved a women and…

Contact For Lenses - misleading prices in emails and ignore emails
Hi Just wondered if anyone else had experienced problems with the company "Contact for Lenses". I'm on their mailing list and they keep sending "special offer" emails to me. But every time the pricing that they show in their emails cannot be found on their website. I emailed them about it but they've just ignored the…

Charities posting envelopes for donations
?What is the protocol if charities leave envelopes for charitable donations and leave a date for calling back for them. I don't want to give the envelope back empty as I would feel guilty but I give to my favourite charities as and when I can. I could not answer the door maybe put a note with my feelings on the subject.…

Cash for clothes
Just had a massive clearout to free up some storage space, and filled about 6 bin bags of old clothes. There's a clothing recycling place nearby which offers about 50p a kilo for unwanted clothes so I rang them to check their opening times thinking I'd take the stuff there rather than chuck it all out. Waste of time. They…

Are Royal Mail stealing their own stamps now!!!
First posting on the praise, vent warning forum. Long had a poor view of Royal Mail but service is getting ridiculous now. I got a card delivered last Friday in a plastic cover printed with a note it had been damaged in transit from overseas by an overseas postal service (or words to that effect). It was posted from…

The Positive Thread!
The many strands of this forum are terrifically useful for sharing problems, seeking advice or simply venting a little. So here's a twist. What about venting on something positive that has happened to you this year? Two great things for me: 1. 14th wedding anniversary in January (after most family members predicted that it…

Does the M6 Toll pay Google Navigation to direct to their road?
On a trip today between Sutton Coldfield and Cannock Google Navigation insisted I took the M6 Toll, totally ignoring the direct A452 route which was not even an option. The A452 was completely clear and was 7 miles shorter @ 16 miles compared to the M6 toll route at 23 miles. Times were the same. Does the M6 Toll pay…

vent Lidl
On Thursday past the 9th went to my local Lidl to buy a petrol generator which had been boldly advertised,on arrival at approximately 8.45am checked store but could not see any or where they had been. I then asked the manager and was told none left, asked how many he had to sell and was told 1(one). I think this is…

Fruit & veg being sold in bowls these days scam?
I'm very suspicious of the trend for selling fruit and veg in white bowls at a pound a go. Why is it that everywhere I go, grocers stalls in markets etc seem to be doing away with scales, and are selling items 'by the bowl'? Is this (as I suspect) a scam to charge more for less? It seems pretty convenient for grocers to…

Is this a genuine company? Please help..
Hello, not sure where I should post this thread, but I think this is probably the best place... A couple of days ago, a salesman knocked on my door, claiming to represent a company named 'South West Designs' home improvements. We need external work on the house, so I said that he could send someone to quote. The quote…
