1 Dress nightmare.

At the end of March I brought my Daughter a Prom Dress from 1dress.co.uk,I paid by Debit card the sum of £129.99 and at the end of April recieved an email saying that the dress had been dispatched and was given a TNT tracking number.
However,on checking the tracking I was amazed to find that the dress had been delivered-but to Israel. I emailed 1dress straightaway to investigate and was told that the 'delivery company' had messed up and sent the dress to the wrong address, despite having our correct address details. In a couple of quite garbled emails we were told that they would make up another dress asap, and I brought forward the date of when I needed the dress. We were told 'no problem, you will have the dress for the date you want'. Last week I emailed them again to see when the dress would be finished and was told it would be shipped on the 9th May. However,on 9th May I was given an incorrect tracking number and then told to 'please ignore the tracking number,it is wrong' and that the dress would now be shipped out on the 11th,as they 'had been so busy lately with too many dresses orders that they can't be made on time'. I was now not convinced that the dress would arrive at all so requested a refund as I was very unhappy with the service and was told I could have 70% as the dress had been made to measure, and that even though it was supposed to be being dispatched today it was 'almost being finished'. I sent another email to ask for full refund and not 70% but the company are not responding.
Iam wondering whether anyone else has had a similar experience? Iam also wondering whether there are any Ombudsman/Trading Standards services who could help get my refund? The situation is a nightmare, the Prom is on the 26th June so the clock is ticking to get a replacement dress, and £129 is a lot to lose,I would urge anyone else to be cautious about this company.

You can forget about ombudsman or Trading Services.
The website is registered in China and has no contact details on it at all apart from a contact form. Were you aware that you were possibly paying for a cheap Chinese product?
The testimonial pictures on the site appear to have been stolen from other sites, so I doubt you'll ever see the dress.
Best bet would be to speak to your bank about a chargeback for non-delivery.0 -
Even if the dress actually arrives, you would have to pay vat and duty (plus the PO charge for collecting this) which will increase the price of the dress considerably.
As the company is outside the EU, you would not have any legal consumer protection rights if the quality or sizing is wrong.0
