Refused refund for chilled goods - Asda

collateral
Hi guys, so I recently bought 4 asda own brand pizzas which were the wrong type. When I tried to change it (two days later), I was refused on that they dont take back chilled goods because they would have to chuck them away. Is this asda's actual policy? Also, if I said I wasn't "satisfied" with their pizza, what difference would it make?
Thanks

What do you mean the 'wrong' type? Different contents in the box? What was wrong with the pizza? If they were not faulty then there is no obligation on the manager to take them back.0

Its nice that many supermarkets will take many things back. But why should a shop refund you for your mistake. Fair enough if you get home and it's out of date or you find mold on it. If i had a massive vendeta against a shop i cud buy £100's of finest meat joints then bring them back a coupel days later for a refund just to spite them?0

From http://your.asda.com/about-asda/exchanges-and-refunds:If you’re not completely satisfied with any Asda Brand food, Asda Brand non-edible grocery, or Asda Brand health & beauty product we will refund and replace the item for you.0

You bought the wrong thing?
In which case it's the "If you change your mind" policy - exceptions apply to this sort of policy; and what's more you have to return it in saleable condition - which you could not do.0 -
Where did you store them for 2 days, and how can the store be sure they are safe? In supermarkets you have something called a cold chain, where chilled or frozen stuff is only allowed to be out of the chiller/freezer for a limited amount of time. For all they know you forgot and left your shopping in the car boot for 2 days so they could not possibly resell those items. If you just picked up the wrong type that's your mistake and it's unfair to expect them to write off the cost. Obviously if there was an issue with the quality of the food you might be able to get a refund but not just because you changed your mind.Smokefree since 27-9-20070

Unfortunately you are, however, correct about this alternative strategy - you could have lied and attempted to receive a refund through fraudulently suggesting that the toppings and base were not to the usual great quality you expect from Asda. A petty and ugly theft that may or may not work but you should have more self-respect than to stoop to such a grubby ploy.0 -

I think most stores have a 20 minute time in which to change chilled or frozen goods. Morrison do anyway as i had to take something frozen back as the price was more than i thought (Morrison pricing again ) Its a heigene thing and quite right. You wouldn't want to buy food that had been in someones house for 2 days.:eek:0
