Refused refund for chilled goods - Asda

AFAIK a supermarket would throw away chilled returns anyway, as wouldn't take a risk on reselling a "risky" product..0

Why on earth would I want to eat a pizza that's been in your house for 2 days, may not have been near a fridge and could have all sorts on the packaging?
Common sense! Either that, or put your glasses on next time and buy the correct pizza. I understand how you can miss a tiny detail when buying something like a laptop, but buying a pizza should be a self-explanatory and simple process.
Read what's on the box, see if you like it, buy pizza.0 -
collateral wrote: »Hi guys, so I recently bought 4 asda own brand pizzas which were the wrong type. When I tried to change it (two days later), I was refused on that they dont take back chilled goods because they would have to chuck them away. Is this asda's actual policy? Also, if I said I wasn't "satisfied" with their pizza, what difference would it make?
Thanks
Surely you'd have realised your mistake when you unpacked your shopping when you got home, so why wait 2 days to do something about it???
I much prefer Morrisons own brand, Savers fresh pepperoni pizzas @99p, best I've ever tasted! Better than some of the dearer branded versions!0 -
Most of the supermarket chilled boxed pizzas are made by the same factory, Stateside Foods.0

Unfortunately you are, however, correct about this alternative strategy - you could have lied and attempted to receive a refund through fraudulently suggesting that the toppings and base were not to the usual great quality you expect from Asda. A petty and ugly theft that may or may not work but you should have more self-respect than to stoop to such a grubby ploy.
The policy says:
"If you’re not completely satisfied with any Asda Brand food, Asda Brand non-edible grocery, or Asda Brand health & beauty product we will refund and replace the item for you."
completely satisfied means completely satisfied, it doesn't necessarily have to be a lie about the quality. Maybe not in the spirit of the policy but the OP was not completely satisfied, as the product was not what she/he expected it to be (as a result of their own mistake)Bought, not Brought0 -
Don't feed the troll (the wrong type of pizza).0

Just because the pizzas are manufactured by the same company does not mean they are made with the same recipe or ingredients... there may be quite significant differences in the taste/quality from one item to another.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
