Just wanted to thank all on this site.
Don't know where to post this, but as I use this section a lot, just wanted to say thank you to all who take time and trouble to post on these boards. We are all tightening our belts (Well after all the christmas food has left rhe cupboards we will!), but it's nice to know there is such a good cameraderie on here. It has…

Beware! Amazon scammers!
I almost got caught by this scammer yesterday. If you have a listing on Amazon please be careful not to reply to the "buyer" directly. They will then have your email address and you are at risk of fake emails. I received fake "Sold, dispatch now" emails from : payment-guaranteed@amazon.co.uk payment-messages@amazon.co.uk…

Some Praise for Tesco Photo
I had ordered 3 canvas prints on the 4th December for Christmas presents. Tesco were at the time offering half price on all canvas's and therefore it worked out a great deal. However, due to the high demand I had to wait till the 21st December for collection instead of the 14 days, which was frustrating as it was so close…

Comet's post-Christmas service - pants!
On 26th Dec I ordered a printer from them. Website said it would be delivered from 28th (wow, I thought, What good service!) and so I chose 28th as delivery day and waited in. Needless to say it didn't come. Nor did my order show on their tracking page. I've had 3 emails: 1 to say I've an item in my basket I haven't paid…

Missed the bin men
I checked online for the bin emptying days before Christmas and ours should be tomorrow. The bin lorry has just sailed past, the only bins that have beem emptied are the ones they go down the paths for (elderly/diasbled) and a couple that people must have put out on spec. I tried to get mine out quickly but had only just…

Royal mail international handling fee (moan/warning)
I bought a broken piece of plastic jewellery from America for £17 and i forgot the VAT charge changes; It used to be £18 or less and you don't get charged, now it is £15 or over and you get charged VAT, which is fair enough and i really don't mind; However the Royal Mail have a HUGE (relative to the item price) £8 charge…

Walmsleys-what would you do
In may my mum ordered a leather sofa and two chairs from walmsleys-and paid her 10% deposit of £130. That was end of may and we were told 10 weeks max-but possibly only 6. So after 6 weeks-I called in every week-only to keep on getting fobbed off. Aug 31-our store closed and many branches were sold off. I tried another…

Very.co.uk - Am I missing something!!?
Ok, so I have a Very account which hasn't been used for a while and I'm steadily clearing the balance down. As my balance has been coming down, so have my minimum payments (naturally). However, this month my minimum payment has shot up for seemingly no reason and Very are clutching at straws! Last month I had a balance of…

WHSmith Till Vouchers
Bought a magazine today, and on my receipt the sales assistant scanned on 2 different money off vouchers. Only he never gave me them or put them in the bag with the magazine. How pathetic. Maybe it was because I declined their rubbish chocolate for a £1 add on sale at the till. Who knows. :rotfl:

Hmv rant
Went to HMV yesterday with a voucher I'd been given for Xmas. Spent forever (well about 30 mins) deciding what to buy with it about another 30 mins queing to pay for it only to be told that the 'voucher system' was down. I asked why they didnt have signs up to tell people to save them queing. The mardy arsed bandit behind…

Tesco 'Sales' Vent
Last year a new Tesco Extra opened a few months early than expected and instantly became our new supermarket as it's opposite our flat and tends to sell everything we need at much better price than anywhere else and wish less stress. However lately this Tesco Extra has been very cheeky! Every Sunday they put out products…

Game - small vent
Went into Game yesterday (big mistake, queue was halfway up the shop and it was chaos, but I digress), and my partner saw Champ Manager 2012 reduced to £19.99. Lots on the shelf, but they all had a Pre-order sticker on them. We thought it was a mistake or they had put out stock that had been displayed before it was…

La Senza / Blacks / Millets - Analyst warning
Just a note for all those grabbing online bargains from these shops. It's looking likely they'll go bust in the next few weeks. Where possible, shop in-store. If buying online, use a credit card for Section 75 protection, just in case.... :money:…

Opened our christmas pudding as I was doing the christmas lunch and noticed it looked a bit odd and there were white marks on which upon closer inspection turned out to be mould .The pudding had a best by date of 2013 and was fully sealed . Broke the news to the family and managed to warm a few mince pies to replace it .…
