Missed the bin men

Options
I checked online for the bin emptying days before Christmas and ours should be tomorrow.
The bin lorry has just sailed past, the only bins that have beem emptied are the ones they go down the paths for (elderly/diasbled) and a couple that people must have put out on spec.
I tried to get mine out quickly but had only just managed to open the gate when they went past.
I've now got another week to wait and 2 full bins
Ok rant over, supoose I'll have to go and queue for an hour at the tip :(

Why not just wait and see what happens tomorrow as you say they should be due then?

Woke up this morning and found the strong wind had blown over the bin, and the empty bottles and cans were strewn all over the street. So my first job this morning has been to go out and gather all the rubbish...as I have been doing all week in the sales.

I'd put the bin out as you should for tomorrow, considering that's suppose to be the collection day. If they don't turn up complain to the council.

At least you have a weekly collection, we have normal bin 1 week then recycling the following week etc...
  • I must say my local council are pretty good. With the last collection before christmas they always leave a plastic card attached to the bin with the revised bank holiday dates for the whole year ahead.
    We can't find you now
But they're gonna get the money back somehow
    And when you finally disappear
We'll just say that you were never here

I put my bin out last night with around 5 others,my end of the streets bins get put outside my house every week as i live at a top of a cul de sac,the wind was so strong they all went over ,so me and my neighbour went out picked up all the rubbish and put the bins against my front wall around 2 meters from the road to save them going over again. When I came back from taking my girlfriend to work they have taken the bins from the top of the street and left all are bins!!!!and a gave them a Christmas tip last week as well. You would have thought they would have realised the bins were there due to the wind and just walked the 2 meters to collect them.

An hour's queue at the tip? Really?

Our tip won't take household waste, just recycling.

If we miss our bin collection, we can ring the council, and they'll come and empty it.

Count yourself lucky you have a weekly collection. Mine is fortnightly, and I forgot to put mine out so they weren't emptied for a whole month!
I agree the fortnightly bin collection is ridiculous. Same happened with the public sector strike, no bin collection on the assigned collection day, had to wait another fortnight for collection a month a total!
