Opened our christmas pudding as I was doing the christmas lunch and noticed it looked a bit odd and there were white marks on which upon closer inspection turned out to be mould .The pudding had a best by date of 2013 and was fully sealed .
Broke the news to the family and managed to warm a few mince pies to replace it .
Will be taking it back to the store concerned tomorrow , pretty annoyed that our meal was well not spoiled but not what we planned but relieved I saw it and we didnt eat it and get food poisoning

Where was it from?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
You certain it was mould ? Most likely "fat" from some of ingredients (suet if beef), when reasonably cool it looks whitish substance especially round the outside.0

Should have made it yourself.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

It was definately mould and the whole thing looked sort of 'sweaty' -yuk
Took it back today and was given £5 goodwill , fair enough outcome as really the main thing was that we didn't eat it and get food poisoning .
Where was it from .........well on Christmas day I certainly did not feel like happy go lucky me frantically scrabbling through the cupboards for a substitute
Maybe next year I will make my own .0 -

It was Sainsburys , I was going to just microwave it and the instructions were to pierce the film lid , cook in the basin ant then turn out on to a plate . For some reason I ripped off the film before I read the instructions and luckily spotted the furry mould . If I had followed the instructions we would probably not have seen it :eek:0

A microwaved shop bought Christmas pudding, probably the mould would have at least giving it some flavour.0

Well perhaps not what we were looking for but that 18 pack of loo rolls might have come in handy
To be honest the pudding eaters did say they enjoyed the mince pies so it turned out ok .0 -
There is always an increase in the sales of botty paper at Christmas!0
