Have you visited Ikea today 30th June
I visited my local Ikea today and bought a few items, including an Ikea family offer. The total was £6 but the amount taken from my card was £11, when I pointed it out to the assistant she directed me to customer services. I then queued for a while to see customer services got to the till and the guy offered to refund my…

Tesco Photo - Praise
I registered with Tesco Photo to print off my holiday pics and got 50 free prints for registering after reading about the deal on here. Ordered them to pick up at my local tesco and they were ready in an hour! Brill service! Good quality prints too. Was a bit sneaky and registered an account in my OH's name and got another…

Can't see this mentioned anywhere on MSE. Am I the only one to find the blue the Google banner at the top of their pages annoying? The banner even appears if you make Google your homepage. No means of contacting Google about it except through their useless help forum. Edit - other users reporting this annoying - link here

Praise for Accurist.co.uk, as always!
Yesterday the battery went in my faithful OLD Accurist watch (not what this thread is about btw). OH bought me a new Accurist for Christmas last year, had it altered (it was too big, came back too small) and lost the links that the jeweller took out of the strap. So, after searching the house high and low and conceding…

Cancelling '3' Mobile phone contracts
Hi All, Had to come and vent my spleen about the hard sell experienced from 3 yesterday whilst cancelling two contracts. Tied in to an 18 Month contract which was fair enough but temporarily moved abroad with work so not used phones for nearly a year. After a good 20 minute wait to speak to an operator, this Woman would…

Double 8 Tickets -Aaaargh!
:mad::mad: Booked tickets to see Paul Simon on 28th June. Checked with Hammersmith Apollo show was still "on" at 4pm so travelled up to London. Got there at 6.30 pm to find out show had been postponed until the next night!!!! Couldn't get hold of Double 8 tickets - the line just kept ringing. Eventually got through on…

"We'er currently experiencing very high call volumes.."
I hate this. Then they give you a recorded message cross-selling you other products. GGGRRR!! Are they experiencing such high calls because their products are rubbish? Or because they don't invest highly enough in customer services. If I hang up after several minutes, and then decide to call their sales line, the phone is…

Fake amazon £10 discount
beware any visitors to amazon.co.uk shown a £10 gift voucher in your basket. It is an advert for mastercard and not a genuine discount. Amazon apologised to me for it being misleading but said they have no contractual obligation to pay the £10 and will not uphold it.

Praise: Public sector strikes
I'd like to say a big thank you to all the public sector workers striking today! For the first time in years my journey has taken less than 30 minutes to work, and I managed to grab myself a coffee and something to eat. Keep at it guys!

Vent - bloody selfish sods leaving an injured man in the road!
Well Christ, what an experience I've had today. Went out for a pleasant walk in the sunshine whilst I'm out of work (boo) and sauntered down into the countryside near Newcastle. Walking along the road, I see a guy lying in the road up ahead, clearly bloodied. I also see two cars carefully driving round him and carrying on.…

Skyparksecure - joyriding in my car!
A warning to anyone who might use Skyparksecure... I put my car into their care over the weekend while I was away, they travelled 97 miles in her and burned out my clutch! When I called to complain, I was asked to put it in writing. 24 hours later I got a form email back stating that they were not liable. They did however…

Average teacher pension £10k....
I hear this quoted now on most news broadcasts...can someone explain this figure? How long do you work before retiring? What is the average salary at retirement? Is there a lump sum? Is it a final salary scheme? just curious as to how they arrive at this figure, perhaps an explanation might get more people on their side.

Praise: Cuisinart
Our two year old Cuisinart ice cream maker mixer stopped working properly last week. It is the size of a large breadmaker and a bit heavier. I rang Cuisinart expecting to get a either a service call or a spare part in the post. No, the young lady said without prompting "sorry for your problem, we will replace it with a new…

Egg credit card customer service praise
I was looking through my Egg credit card statement online last Monday and I noticed a transaction that I hadn't made (It was only for £4.01 and was a paypal purchase). It seems that someone had managed to get hold of my card details and had linked this to their paypal account. I contacted Egg on Monday afternoon at about…

WHSmith!
Not directly involving myself but something I witnessed yesterday. Picking up a friend from the airport, went into WHSmith for a drink, standing next to a pregnant lady at the fridge, exchanged plesantries when we both went for the same bottle of juice. She took another bottle and walked towards the til, I was behind her…
