Cinema tickets getting a bit pricey aren't they?
£7.25 in the evening to watch a film at Showcase in Cardiff! :) Surely that's reaching the tipping point where people are just going to start waiting for the DVD? You can pick them up for twelve quid a few months later and watch them as many times as you like! How much is a film round your way? Just something to ponder for…

I would be so grateful if someone could give some advice because Im in a bit of a pickle. I ordered some items online yesterday and they were meant to be delivered today (needed them last minute and wont be any good to me next week etc). Watch Out For Penny Auction Sites!
Just wanted to warn everyone out there that you should only participate in penny auctions if you're willing to lose money and not win anything. That seems to be the way they work. I was taken in by a review on this and I ended up losing money. I don't recommend participating in any of these sites! I know I won't

C3 picasso brakes activated by pressing passenger footwell
Just watched BBC1 Watchdog Pure shocker! Apparently if front passenger stretches out and press onto front passenger footwell they can affect the brakes due to a technical fault in the cars being changed from lefthand drive to right.

Beware-COMET could be cheating on the products they are selling..
Last week, I had reserved a HP laptop online to be collected at my local COMET store. After I had picked it up, I started personalising the PC and to my surprise the hardware configuration on the laptop was not what the model should have had! It was a bit strange, the graphics card on the model should have been a 'ATI…

Over charging at NCP car park
I recently got over charged at the NCP car park in Reading (Garrard St) by roughly £5. At the time I wasn't entirely sure I had been over charged but when I sent NCP my ticket they admitted that due to a 'machine error' I had been overcharged. This is scandalous as many other of my work colleagues also used the car park…

Just thought I'd like to share a little bit of my knowledge with you all. 3 times a day ,on average, the supermarket sorts through the shelves for stuff that may go out of date or the best before is on that day. there will usually be a clearance section (you may have to look for this…

aol broadband
My AOL broadband has been off for over a week now with little success in getting the service restored. Their tech support lines cost a fortune from mobiles and are difficult to get a response other than music. After giving up after 10 days I'm now changing to plusnet.

Vent: What is it with people and old threads?
Why is it that a small but persistent group of posters insist on whining if an old thread is resurected? It doesn't hurt anyone. It is unlikely to rip a hole in the space time continuum. If the thread is still of interest it will hang around for a while and if it isn't it will quickly drop back into obscurity. Just like…

Furniture Village efficiency
We recently took delivery of 2 sofas from Furniture Village. After we had signed the delivery note confirming "no damage", and the delivery guys had left, we did in fact notice some cosmetic damage to one of the sofas. We contacted FV who sent out someone to look at the damage, and then offered us a repair or replacement.…

Why was match.com on Watchdog?
The automatic renewal thing has been used for years by a whole number of companies. Yes it might be immoral to profit from someone FORGETTING to cancel their subscription but it is still the fault of the customer. And suspending an account is totally different to cancelling an account. No organisation is going to make it…

Alpen - sneaky package sizing
Alpen (the breakfast cereal) was recently reduced at our local supermarket - £2.00 instead of £2.99. They had sold out of "normal" Alpen, so I thought I'd stock up with the "no added sugar" variety instead. It was only later that I realised that the box seemed a bit thinner than usual... and it was! You get 750g in the…

joint account happiness
After years of separate accounts my wife and I opened a joint account and at last I am able to pay in a cheque in my wife's name into her bank account again. Last time when I tried to pay a cheque into my wife's bank account using her card and pin in the chip and pin machine at the teller window the teller told me I…

No joke, have only just heard about Census and have just moved.... HELP!
I have not yet filled out or been listed as a member of any UK household (I'm fairly sure) for the 2011 census because, believe it or not, I just so happened not to hear about it and am worried about being fined. I am fairly unsociable, read no newspapers and watch no television or radio and so missed any adverts and…
