Valewall clothing collections
Just a warning in case anyone doesn't know about this and gets a leaflet through the door (forum search showed no previous topics): had a leaflet last week from this firm. Google results are here - doesn't look promising what with newspaper and police reporting and advising "stay away". I'm just sending them an email…

Royal Mail
Just had to collect a parcel from my local sorting office. It had come from the U.S.A and the contents were worth more than £18 so I had to pay VAT of £5.28, and then a Royal mail 'handling fee' of £8.00! - This seems excessive to me, why would it cost as much as £8.00 to handle my parcel?!

DHL Redirect Website Warning - Unbelievable
Got a delivery card from DHL. Went to redelivery website as advised (redelivery.dhl.co.uk) and requested redelivery. Received email confirmation. Delivery did not take place so telephoned for update to be told parcel had been returned to sender. Reason - apparently online redelivery website does not work despite appearing…

Pepsi!!
Morning Not really a vent, just a little warning! Every week when I do my weekly shop I buy a fridge filler size pack of pepsi max, this week I picked it up as normal, but when I got it home it was actually normal pepsi, not the pepsi max! I was a little annoyed with myself for obviously not reading the packaging properly,…

Rude and inconsiderate theatregoers
DH and I have just come back from seeing Blood Brothers. The tickets were £35 each, and by the time you add on parking and interval drinks the evening cost in the region of £85, but it was a show we really wanted to see and we had put the money aside. BUT.... The couple in front of us completely ruined it. Firstly they…

Tesco Yellow Sticker/Reductions - Customer behaviour vent!
I am a fan of getting reduced items from Tesco but when I go, I retain as much dignity as I can. I am also polite and nice towards the Sales Assistants. I don't crowd and I don't push. Unfortunately not all are like this, infact tonight I was at Tesco in Gateshead and I was absolutely disgusted at people's behaviour.…

Telephone Scam + Nigeria
Hi, I received a phone call about half an hour ago from an unknown caller. As we have had a spate of cold calling, I answered in order to tell them quite clearly that they should not be ringing me...when I answered there was a man shouting 'hello, hello' etc and a baby crying in the background. I was on the phone for…

Bedstar - Deceptive Price 'Promise'
I'm currently buying a new matress, so after researching which one is best suited, I decided to check the price around other retailers to ensure I had the best price. The company I was going to order from, bedstar.co.uk had a price promise, which simply says they'll match anyone elses price, and throw in two free pillows.…

European Health Card (previously E111)
Been online this afternoon to get a new EHIC in my married name. Went to first link https://www.ehic.org and completed the form - but was then asked for £9.95 to complete the application. As I knew this should be free, I rechecked - the correct NHS website is https://www.EHIC.org.uk where you can apply or renew FREE OF…

Pinesolutions.co.uk - not sure if this is praise or a warning!
After reading about people's woes buying from Oak Furniture Land (who were fine when we ordered), we found recommendations for Pinesolutions.co.uk. We've recently moved, and needed to buy several pieces of furniture. I paid for express delivery, so the furniture would arrive the following day, which it did. It seems quite…

Ideal World/Break4Free and Travel Steps
Beware of Ideal World (shopping channel) in association with Travel Steps (now going by the name of Break4Free). This is a scam to make you pay £99.00 every year, without your authorisation. Ideal World have very kindly (and without my knowledge or permission) passed on my bank card details to this company. They write to…

Honda Motorcycles Warning
Just a quick note for anyone wanting to purchase a new Honda motorcycle. I bought a new bike last week & on the last day when I came to pick it up was told I would have to pay over £800 for 2 years worth of servicing or the warranty on the bike would be void. I just confirmed this with their head office. This was a shock…

I was so wrong about Alliance and Leicester
I moved my banking to Alliance and Leicester a while ago and they were brilliant, I read loads of posts on here saying how bad A&L were and in a couple of them I posted the good points I had found since banking with A&L. I just want to say how wrong I was to sing their praises, I now see why so many people ranted about…
