Snow and Grit( the lack of!)
I see, today 14 January 2010, on the BBC News website that in April 2009 local councils were offered 60,000 tons of salting grit at a reduced price. 'With the government looking to buy salt from abroad,' Mr Stephen ( of the companies willing to supply this discounted grit) said 'councils could have stocked up last year and…

Drowning in paper from a bank
Couldn't decide whether this was a savings post, or a rant. In the end I've decided I'm mainly having a moan. (I will try and treat those with opposing views as nicely as those who agree!) I've just opened a savings account to put some money away every month for a specific purpose. I'm happy with an account I have for…

Well done Halfords!
Well done to the manager and customer assistant in Halfords Straiton who dealt with my return very professionally and quickly. My Halfords cordless vacuum cleaner packed up after 18 months. Elitemate UK via topcashback
I signed up to this via TCB. It didn't track and TCB don't follow up claims from this merchant that don't track. When you sign up there are about 100 tick boxes asking if you want to receive emails from a load of companies, I clicked 'no' in each case and receive about 50 SPAM emails a day now from the companies it lists…

RM Parcels
Does anyone know if there's any way of checking if your local post office is sitting on your parcels rather than delivering them straight away? I ordered some stuff on line last Monday and Wednesday, and my Dad ordered some stuff on Saturday, and not a single thing has turned up - I would've expected at least one parcel by…

Santander - a fresh start?
Hey guys, I had a thought today about the whole Santander merger. Are people out there seeing Santander as a new company and thus giving them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to customer service? Or do you still think they are Abbey/Bradford & Bingley/A&L underneath? I know it's the same staff that will be working…

Who stole my bloody sandwich?
Don't you just hate it when that happens. That lovely ham and mustard sandwich you slaved over a hot stove for hours to prepare just gets stolen out of the fridge at work. So who stole my bloody sandwich? Who would do such a thing? Did they look in the fridge and think it was their ham and mustard sandwich they had placed…
