grrr la redoute!! xmas blanket

i ordered a red and white blanket from la redoute before xmas...with plenty of time for it to be delivered...as i know a few others on here have....it didnt arrive befor xmas...so i called them up saying that i hadnt received it..he said thats because the warehouse are out of stock we are waiting for more from the supplier which we are due to get next week (obviously way to late for the xmas present it was intended for) then you will receive it xxx amount of working days later.

well today i get a courier knock on the door witch a package...it was from la redoute and inside was a delivery note stating what i had ordered and that the money will be debited from my account when its been dispatched....i also received an email saying it had been dispatched and the money taken from my account.
so on receipt of this 'package' i call la redoute explaining that i received a parcel with just the letter in but no blanket...and her reply...well we wont be sending it out to you as we have no more in stock and cant get any from the supplier you should of had a letter saying this...i explained i had an email saying it had been despatched and monety taken..shes like yeah theres a system error...but there is no blanket to send to you....all i can do is refund your money. so annoyed;....i wanted the blanket hence the fact i ordered it grrrrr!

i told her that in no uncertain terms will i be using them again ...it was the first time and last time i ever attempted to shop with them!!

anyone else had this problem with them ?

Exactly the same scenario. Why send a courier with an empty parcel?

The same thing has happened to me, only I ordered mine from Vertbaudet (childrenswear) same company perhaps?
Thing is they originally delivered my blankets on December 8th according to Hermes tracking, but it was delivered to a non-existant shed. if they did put it in my yard somewhere I haven't found it yet! So this 'parcel' was supposed to be my replacements. The letters (2, for 2 blankets ordered) actually have offers on, free gift on an order, £12 off an order with no minimum spend or there's something they will just send me if I want them, not sure if these offers are aswell as or instead of a refund but since they are refunding I will try my £12 off anyway!
