Refund for wedding ring and hallmarks
Am in the process of buying wedding rings for me and the future Mrs Monty and we've been supplied with a ring (Platinum) that doesn't have a hallmark. We obviously returned it and they couldn't have been more apologetic but understandably it's made me think twice about using them for our rings so I've requested a refund. I…

What are my rights for a refund?
Hi, I ordered a tile sample from a company on the internet. I placed the order over the phone - I asked for a 60cm by 60cm tile to be sent. When I took the sample from the courier I could hear that the tile was smashed before I even opened the packaging. When I did open it up the tile was broken into at least 15 pieces. I…

Daysoft Contact Lens
I'd just like to nominate Daysoft Contact Lenses www.daysoftlenses.com for the Five Star Service Award for their outstanding customer service. I was first prescribed their daily disposable lenses some years ago when they were the only manufacturer to make 7.00+ lens and my optician thought they might be a better fit since…

HSBC Bank and foreign cheques
I receive a cheque each month from Cafepress.com (the t-shirt people), which arrives by snail mail in US Dollars. As soon as I receive it, I go to the local HSBC bank in person and pay it in. This has been going on since early 2006. They have two ways to deal with foreign cheques. 1. Negotiation - the funds are credited to…
