I have lots of jewellery which I am determined to sort out and start wearing. A lot of it is tarnished, what is the best way to clean and keep clean? Is there anything that can be put in with the jewellery to keep it from tarnishing again once I have cleaned it? Also I have a lot of charms, both beads and clip on style…

Need a SMALL soup maker
I have a standard size soup maker, but find it's simply too big for one person, and with very limited freezer space I simply can't use all I make unless the family are all together. Can anyone recommend a small sized soupmaker that makes enough for 2-3 portions? My current soupmaker is a Morphy Richards, and about…

Aldi large eggs are really medium.
I just checked the weights of a dozen large eggs from Aldi because the last couple of boxes looked small when I opened them. Turns out 5 out of 12 should be classified as medium, with 2 at 60, 2 at 61 and one at 62 gm. I took the boxes from a newish pack, low down, and I don’t think anyone could have been swapping the eggs…

Weekly Flylady Thread 23rd October 2017
What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

Special diets on a budget
I would like to go gluten-free (and possibly sugar and dairy free too) because I have been told it could help my migraines and also an autoimmune problem that I have that affects my liver. Hubby is veggie so we mostly eat veggie food. I don't eat nuts except almonds and pine nuts. I find books like Deliciously Ella…

Halloween cake sprinkles
I can't seem to find any in the shops. They are usually everywhere at this time of year. I've tried Morrison's, Aldi,Lidl, Home Bargains and B&M. Has anyone else noticed a shortage this year or am I simply too late and they've all been bought? Might be sprinkling Halloween buns with left over snowman sprinkles.
