I have lots of jewellery which I am determined to sort out and start wearing.

A lot of it is tarnished, what is the best way to clean and keep clean? Is there anything that can be put in with the jewellery to keep it from tarnishing again once I have cleaned it?

Also I have a lot of charms, both beads and clip on style (more than I keep on my brackets) any recommendations of how to store these? how do others keep their 'spare' ones neat and tidy?

I will be buying a new jewellery box any recommendations for one suitable for alot of charms?

Thanks

Burglars love jewellery boxes, guides them easily to stuff worth pinching - sadly I know from experience.

Put them in a Tampax box and keep it in the bathroom, no burglar will nick it from there.

That is a good point never though of that. Not sure about the tampon box :rotfl:but will think about some more discreet way of keeping/storing.

I keep earrings in a box that I think is designed to hold lots of lipsticks vertically - each pair gets a little compartment. Try searching 'lipstick holder'

I don't have anything very expensive, but I do have a fair amount of silver items; I'd love to know how to stop them tarnishing. Currently I keep a pot of Silvo and a clean rag in the dresser so that I can give the stuff a quick clean before putting it on.

I have a couple of those Earring Books:

(I have a lot of earrings, they're my guilty pleasure).

I'm not sure how I would store Pandora style charms - I don't have one of those bracelets because silver doesn't suit my colouring. I thought the idea was to fill the bracelet and wear all your charms together, rather than store them - but IM's daughter's idea of a daily pill dispenser sounds a fab solution.

Gosh, sorry, that image is huge and I can't see how to shrink it.

Most of my jewellery is silver (I don't like gold), some of it was expensive. I will look at silvo.

I did googe that you could use baking soda in boling water to remove tarnish, thing is I am not sure if I want to take the risk due to the cost of the items and the stones in some pieces.

Great ideas thanks I will look at the size of compartments in pill boxes and lipstick holders when I am next in town. I thought I could get some off-cuts of velvet to line the compartments.

I don't fill my bracelets up as I prefer the look when you just have a few on, also I am worried if I lost it, full of charms I would lose the lot:eek:

I don't have many earrings, thinking I need more just so I can buy one of those books :rotfl:never seem them before.
