Limes Limes and more Limes .. help ?

Hi guys
So I have been making the key lime pie from the grocery shop thread and my family LOVE IT ... I took some to my parents house and my dad has came home with a full crate of Limes for me to make more (guessing they like it lol)
I normally use 3-4 Limes per pie so there's no way that I would use all the Limes so any ideas ?
I was thinking of juicing and seating some and freezing for future lime pies but not sure if this would work ?
Any other ideas as well .. I'm really trying to save at the minute so it would be great if I could make things with stuff I already have in .. I have a pretty good store cupboard
Thanks a million

Lime Curd? We Love it....
Slice and freeze some for those festive G&Ts
Juice and freeze in ice cube trays - don’t forget to zest them first and freeze that too :TNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
DD1 slices limes and lemons and freezes the slices which she uses in G & T's as ice cubes, also in fizzy water when it's warm in the summer and she says they work really well in a flask of water if they go in straight from the freezer and keep the water/juice in it really cold in a packed lunch.0

Cucumber and lime agua fresca - delicious. There are lots of recipes online, but it's basically water, lime juice, cucumbers and sugar to taste. It's delicious, and you can also turn it into the basis of a cocktail with vodka, or freeze it to make granita.0

I second lime curd - beautiful on scones with blueberries atop
Or drizzled over ice cream, or put into fairy cakes

I second the idea of freezing slices, which I do, as I love limes and use them instead of lemons when I can!
They will keep a good while in the fridge - or you could try hanging up outside this time of year, as I don't think they'd attract vermin.
The zest does tend to lose its zing when frozen, but you could freeze lime butter. I make lime hollandaise - gorgeous.
I've never done it, but I think with that quantity I'd try doing preserved limes, they way you can do preserved lemons.0 -
Oh yes, defo lime curd. Easy to make and would make nice gifts.
I expect the curd could be used on a biscuit crumb base to make something lovely when the mood strikes
I also thought of preserving like lemons but have never done it. I shall look it up, could be another nice xmas gift for hampers of HM goodies.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
I normally get through a few limes when I make a Thai green curry. Delia's lime and coconut cake is amazing, as is her lemon and lime marmalade. She also has a recipe for an amazing lemon meringue ice cream (for which, dangerously, you don't need an ice cream machine) and I bet a lime version of that would be fab. There are also quite a few recipes online for preserved limes, which look really good.0

Lime Curd, Lime Cordial and Lime Marmalade - just send all the spare jars to me.

Then I would grate the peel, juice and freeze.
I love limes. I blame a childhood obsession with green Opal Fruits.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
this older thread has some great ideas
I can also vouch for this lime and coconut cake!
Twice the stated quantity makes a nice loaf size, it's deliciously moist and keeps for days (if it's not eaten!)

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
