Fairly Liquid on a Mattress
Hi, I poured some fairy liquid directly onto a white mattress, it was the green type liquid and then rubbed it in and poured hot water on top. The mattress is currently drying out and the stain has removed, however although the mattress is still wet I can see the green line of fairy liquid. Will this disappear once the…

cheap shopping for one human and a cat
Hello, I would like some tips on eating cheapily but hopefully fairly healthily. Its just me (and the cat) so how much should I be thinking regarding spending? I have free fruit at work every day and tend to have porridge at work too (its my own porridge - milk is supplied at work). I don't have any food restrictions - all…

We all like cereal bars in our house as a low calorie snack. Has anyone got a recipe for anything similar that I could bake. A lower calorie version of flap jack maybe or any other suggestions ?

Can you freeze aubergine?
In its raw form, that is. I know it'll probably go mushy, but I've got some leftovers and I don't have time or ingredients at the moment to make something with it to freeze. So I was thinking if it was freezable as it is, I could do it in chunks and stick it in a curry or something another time. Would it work, do you think?

Steam cleaner?
Morning old stylers, it's been a VERY long time since I've been here but I need your help! The situation is this - I need a steam cleaner, but I want one that will clean an entire tiled kitchen and bathroom in the minimum amount of time, so I need it to be powerful, and cover a large surface area. The only ones I've seen…

Courgettes what can I make?
My very nice neighbour who grows her own kindly gave us four huge courgettes. Now I've been putting them in my Spag Bol lasagne etc but I want to make sure I use them all and not for them to go to waste. It's a bad month for us money wise, but I've got enough food in to last two weeks roughly, but I've got plenty in so all…

What would cook for 20 walkers?
Hello all I have drawn a short straw and am 'hosting' the end part of a nice country walk with about 20 people attending in October. Ordinarily these events have a big lasagne with jacket spuds and odds and sods that people bring along (coleslaw, random bits of salad, cake). I'd lovely to have some ideas of what you would…

Ideas for stuffing chicken thighs
Hi all I was wondering if anyone could share some ideas for stuffing chicken thighs with which can then be frozen. I'm not a fussy eater and will eat most things, the only thing I'm not keen on is fruit in savoury meals. Thanks!

Buying our 1st sewing machine
Over the last few weeks our 12 year old daughter has been watching video after video on YouTube and Instagram on making her own clothes, where this has come from, I don't know, maybe I've brain washed into moneysaving. :rotfl: This is something I have spoke to my wife about before, investing in a sewing machine to repair…

Weevils?
I have just gone to fill my bread flour jar and I opened a pack and it was crawling:eek::eek: all 6 packs were the same. I have bleached the cupboard out. I have a 15+ packs of bread mix in plastic packaging are they likely to have infected those too? Also do they spread? My pantry is on the other wall to my baking drawer…

Minimum food budget for two people? £50 reasonable?
I was wondering how low people have gone on their food budgets, especially for two adults. Do you think it is reasonable to set a monthly food budget of £50 for two adults? A bit of background: there are two of us in the household (my partner and I, no pets or children) and finances are quite tight at the moment. My…

Costco worth it?
Apparently we're getting a Costco Wholesale nearby. I was wondering if people find it worth joining? The membership is £30 for the year. I live alone, in a small one bed flat, so don't have tons of space for bulk buying. My fridge-freezer is not huge either. Do they sell stuff in smaller quantities, or is it only ginormous…
