O/S Daily Thread Wednesday 24th September

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

A quick post before my battery runs out. Going off in the caravan today, to stay near the Dealers, as we have to have it there at 8 am in the morning. Will spend the day at Maplethorpe, as we can take SKYE in the beach there, and know a cafe who lets her in. Then going onto a rally at Lincoln on Friday, until Sunday.
Congratulations HH & Snoozer on the arrival of your joyful bundles of cuddles.
Now forgotten everything everyone has been saying, I have been reading, just not posting.
HS well done on the coffee morning
Elona. Glad they have sorted some treatment for DH, fingers crossed.
TTFTM. Look after yourself

We finally have a name for the baby, she is called Jolene Suzy, woo hoo.
Busy evening yesterday, I made soup with a punnet of reduced mushrooms & banana bread with some free bananas I was given and I unpacked & washed all the bottles & jars for my yule hampers.
Also had a long chat with DD1, who has managed 2 weeks on her ow, her hubby is away, with her own 5 who include 4 month old twins, 2 dogs & an extra teen who needed respite care.
Hugs to Molly, Hilly well done, LW are you ok? I'm worried about you.
Snoozer, congrats, I love the name Isaac.
Lily, good idea.
Caz, take it easy.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all

Crikey I found it hard to drag my self out of bed this morning . It's dark and raining not much to get up for .

Off to work , it's been very busy so far this week as we are a team of 4 and 3 of them are off either holiday or sick , so everything is down to me . Day off tomorrow though looking forward to that

DDs have settled into uni , dd2 is still feeling homesick but the uni is very good at keeping them occupied day and night which limits the homesickness thankfully.

Snoozer congrats x

Have a good day everyone xx

Very chilli here this morning with fog and rain, looks like a real autumn morning, hope it picks up later on.

Off to work for me today I have three clients today and one of them in particularly difficult so I think it will be a long day.

Gammon for dinner not sure what with, I might cook it and chop it up with a stir fry, will see what I fancy tonight.

Hester I love the baby's name xx

Topsy nice to see you again, hope your sf is ok xx

Have good day all xx

HH - Love the name!
DG - Enjoy your break, had a few great holidays with the children at Mablethorpe.
snoozer - Welcome to baby Isaac.
Elona - Hope OHs treatment starts soon.
Caz - Rest woman!
Well done hilstep, fantastic charity that we used for DH. Had a coffee morning at work and that raised £300. Just wasn't keen on the set price of the guessing games.

Managed to get more painting done last night and have just given the doors their final coat this morning. I have to get the bus today, the train was a disaster, 2 express trains that didn't stop at the station I was going to but the second one said it did - I ended up nearly in Glasgow and had to come back!

It rained really heavily last night, not sorry really as the pavements needed a good wash down, just hope it doesn't make the grass grow again!

Just today and tomorrow at work and then it's a long weekend off. DD and I are going to The Hague to see DS2, quite excited. He went to the blue and yellow shed last night to get some furniture but needs to go back today for more as he borrowed a friends car. Hopefully he can get the works van today. His shopping list he sent me read: ice cream, sofa, gonk, bed!

Anyway, must go in the shower now and get ready. Ham salad for lunch and then something from the fridge for tea, DD should be home and we have to visit someone in hospital. Also want to empty the fridge for the weekend.

Hugs to all in need, LW how's the kitchen? Take care. XX

Morning everyone

Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x

Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.

Now light but very overcast, dull and dreich, damp underfoot, so we’ve obviously had rain during the night, and looks like we could get more rain today. Air feels much cooler too. Until last night I’ve been able to sit in the evening in my pj’s – but last night it wasn’t warm enough and I needed to put my dressing gown on as it was chilly, autumn definitely on the way!

DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early. DS1 up and gone to work.

Dinner tonight will be beef stew and dumplings, potatoes and veg, LO Yorkshires too.

We have a couple of jobs that must be done tonight – DH’s things, not mine, but I told him last night, not to expect that I’ll be sorting it out last minute on Thursday night, so we’ll see if he’s going to get it sorted tonight!

Take care x

Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone :hello:

It's a very damp day here this morning, hubby has gone off to work and the girls are doing their usual headless chicken dance trying to get themselves dressed, sandwiches made and emptying the dish washer before leaving in 20 mins!

I am having a fairly quiet day today although my friend has said she will pop in later for a coffee. My knitting is going well and my arms and hands work properly now. I just have to sew up my santa and then I can start on Mrs Claus.

Hester - lovely names chosen for your new grand daughter, unusual too.
snoozer - Isaac is a beautiful name too, congratulations.

My niece has been posting lots of pictures from her first week at Uni, I don't think her liver is thanking her at the moment! I have a little while yet before any of my girls are ready for that although their chosen careers (at the mo) will need a university degree.

I don't have anything else to say really, I have a quite boring life and every day is much the same.

Anyway, that's it from me for now, hope you all manage to have a lovely day whatever you are up too. Take care xx

Sammy Snake – I like that :D He now has a name and hasn't even been made yet, lol. I'm not working to a pattern, I want to design my own. But snake-shaped is snake-shaped, so it's not going to be much different (if at all) to all the other designs out there :D

Yesterday didn't go as planned, I've already had a good moan elsewhere so won't do it here too. Little Mate was all gorgeousness though, I love seeing him.

It's gloomy and raining here, suits my mood, lol. I need to play catch-up today, so will be busy changing the bed, hoovering, tidying, washing etc etc. I'm going to have to resort to using the dryer, hate doing that.

Morning everyone,

Managed to shower, get dressed and put on make up. Don't worry I'm not pushing myself, just doing what I think I can manage. Dw emptied and wm on, it looks like its going to brighten up today, or so the weather man says. I'll slowly clean up the house as the day goes along.

I have a volunteer meeting at the sanctuary this morning. I'm quite looking forward to meeting the other volunteers that I don't see. I also want to see what dogs went off to England yesterday and the new ones that have came in. I don't think I'l have much to contribute to the meeting but it'll be interesting.

Tonight I will be cooking or the food will go out of date, not sure what yet, whatever has the shortest date.

After the meeting the jammies might come back on, the jeans are a little uncomfortable lol.

hard up hester I think I forgot to congratulate you on the birth of your dgd, so congratulations!!
