This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Not much positive to report, so as my granny used to say: "If you've got nothing nice to say, keep your mouth closed" or words to that effect!
Will pop back later and catch up on everyone's news but in the meantime ......
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

Morning ttfm
Day off for me today , yet I'm still up as if I was going to work  darn that body clock lol
Sat having a cuppa, fed the fish and the cat and I'll wait till its light before I see to the piggy.
Made bread rolls last night ( Paul Hollywood barm cake recipe). They are lovely and soft and last for a few days. I'm going to have a roll and lemon curd for breakfast.
Need to tidy up and go food shopping today , I have a load of towels on the line and another load in the washer.
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Well I'm full of the joys of Spring this morning, I know it's Autumndon't worry. I just woke up in a great mood and I don't know why as I have a very difficult day ahead. Oh well, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.
Hubby has just left for work and it's PAYDAY tomorrow yippee! I have ordered a shop from Waitrose this week although I feel I'm being unfaithful to Tesco :rotfl::rotfl:. No, the only reason I am shopping at Waitrose is that they have a very good money off deal for new customers which offsets the dearer prices and I was curious to see what they sell that is different to my normal shop. Anyway, it's coming tomorrow so I shall be busy putting it all away. I've restocked my freezers so we shall be alright for meals again for quite a while.
I'm off to see my psychiatrist this afternoon, I don't like her and she doesn't like me so it's quite a stilted and awkward conversation. Oh well, as long as I keep taking my meds there isn't a lot she can do to me. Well, that's not quite true. I think that's why I don't like her, because she has so much power over my life. Never mind, nothing is going to bring me down today.
Hope everyone is having a good day and hugs to all who aren't. Take care xx0 -
Morning all
TTFM, hugs, I hope things improve soon.
Molly, LW, Hilly, Elona, hugs & to anyone I've forgotten.
Off to work in a sec, no packup today as it's Curry pot day so I'll eat at work.
I'm making cakes tonight as we have a Macmillan cake sale tomorrow, lemon muffins, chocolate brownies & a Victoria sponge.
Time I made a move.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Hi all!!
Free lunch today in work! Yay! Heading out tonight as well which will be free entry and hopefully one or two free drinks.
I have burgers defrosted in the fridge and I'll have some homemade chips as well as an accompaniment..
Need to have a serious discussion with my boss about my wages, I am raging they aren't right. We are tight on money this month and it doesn't help!!
Other than that I am trying to get ready for my mum visiting, need to make a plan for when she gets here..094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Now light, very cloudy and overcast again, but forecast says it will brighten up later. Yesterday it rained quite heavily for a while from about 8.15am then was very changeable, lovely sunshine then going very dark, dull and overcast but then was sunshine late in the afternoon. Chilly in the evening though.
Dinner last night was beef stew and dumplings, pots, veg and LO yorkshires, all eaten and enjoyed by us all, clean plates all round. The meat was from MrM’s seems much better quality than the other SM’s. Tonight we’ll be having spag bol. I have an online order being delivered this afternoon.
DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early. DS1 up and gone to work.
I need to do a few household jobs today, so will get on with those steadily.
Feeling a bit brighter today although have been feeling very low for past couple of weeks, still finding the fact that I can't get about very difficult, it's 2 weeks today until I go back to the hospital - best case scenario, I'm hoping then they will take the cast off and I'll be able to get back to work and some kind of normal - worse case scenario - the break has healed so I'll need an op and then more time off work - hoping it's not the latter! I'm hoping I feel brighter as I'm now over half way and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Take care x
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Just lost a post its horrible when that happens, anyway the gist of it was that I am off to work (again) but at least I get to see dd as we have two staff down sick so have had to call dd in.
Dinner tonight is something with chips and my shopping is being delivered.
Cold here again this morning, but yesterday during the day was glorious, someone told me yesterday that this good weather will continue for another month, I hope so it will save having the heating on for a while.
LM hugs to you and hubbie, hope he feels better now he is at home xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Good luck Dumpling - I know exactly how you feel about your consultant - they wield so much power xxxx
Elona - thinking of you and your family. When I was told to put on weight I added full cream milk and double cream to soups and smoothies and had the dreaded Ensure - 300 calories a bottle and lots of vitamins.
Hester - love the name Im a great fan of Dolly x
We have a meeting with Dad's Social Worker. There is a huge gap in funding that had not previously been identified and will either mean a move to a cheaper home or back to live with mum:eek::eek::eek: Either is frightening.
I had my meeting with the consultant and have been told to get on and have my operation asap:(:(:(
Hugs for a good OS day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning All
TTFTM - Hang in there till tomorrow, hope the doctor can help you out.
LW - Hope DH makes a speedy recovery.
dumpling - Yay on the good mood!
Put the towels on the line yesterday when I got home from work 'for an hour just to air them off', they are still there! DD came home and we went to visit a friend in hospital so I forgot all about them - so much so that I left the back door wide open too!
Had lo soup for tea, using up what's in the fridge so nothing spoils over the weekend. Baked pots for tea tonight, salad for lunch.
Cleaned the hob, it wasn't a pretty sight. All this painting means I haven't thought about the rest of the house. Painting just about finished now.
Have a good day, hugs to those needing one, hope everyone is well.
Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
I've been absent for a while as I've been adjusting to a higher dose of antidepressents and that give me a short concentration span!
I only read through yesterday's posts but I'm sorry to see lots of people having a difficult time at the moment - hugs and strength to you all xx
Nice to see the new babies news so :T to those families!
I'm stuck in waiting for two parcels today which I hope come early as I could do with nipping to the shops. I will clean the oven to keep me busy in the mean time and do a reds wash.
I'm going to have nut roast for dinner tonight, but there's left over roast beef for DH. I need to hide the biscuits too as I've been a bit naughty lately.......:p
Have a good day all, hugs to the many in need at the moment xx0
