Morning all,
Molly I hope all goes well with your Dads social worker. One less thing to worry about. Hope you get a date soon for your op. If your consultant wants you to have it as soon as possible he means it. Many hugs.
Tru xx to you too.
All is well with me. Ive got my Grandson today. The house is in chaos but the 'Girls' have found the safest spot. If they lie on the floor he goes over to them but if they jump on the furniture he leaves them alone.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks everyone for good wishes, I am still going to see the doctor tomorrow but I think I am on the mend. It took DH 2 weeks to get over this and I am on 2 weeks tomorrow, so hope it's all downhill now.
Mood is related to job situation for both of us. I have had to tell 5 staff that they are on 28 days redundancy notice this week, leaving just 3 remaining. I am still hoping for a miracle and telling everyone it's not over until the fat lady sings but I think I can hear here tuning up in the wings.
DH is just in a terrible state. It appears the college will take any student to get the funding and he and fellow teachers are taking terrible verbal abuse every day. Yesterday he had a class with 2 students with same first name, one came in and only gave his first name, DH asked for surname and was told to "Check the f*****g register", DH asked again and more abuse followed, in the end he marked student absent and told him he would not receive his EMA. Cue even worse verbal abuse and slammed doors on way out. Then he had the girl who would not put her mobile phone away and said she didn't want to f*****g be there anyway. Then DH's friend told him about his students who call him a woman's name and then shorten it to an abusive term and refuse to stop smoking e-cigarettes in the class and blow the vapour at him as he speaks to them.
The senior management are bullies and it will be blamed on the teachers that the students behave like this, they are all told they have poor classroom control. These kids are totally out of control before they even came to the college and they are not going to change now.
I have to say it really made me laugh this week when Ed Milliband said he would give the vote to 16 year olds. I dread to think who/what this lot would vote for!
I am convinced DH will have a stroke or heart attack with the stress, he already has sky high blood pressure which can't be controlled by medication. He was 55 last week and that is the age my dad died, the man who used to tell me all the wonderful things we would do when he retired
Rant over, sorry
Molly - big hugs to you, I hope it can be sorted for your dad x

Good afternoon,
drizzly here today but mild. I still haven't had the heating on and the windows are still open during the day. Took the dogs down to mum's to collect mum's dog, they were so happy to see each other again. We had a little stroll through an empty field where they got rid of some of their energy, they make me smile. Mum's dog is staying for one night. He likes the company, he huffed when he went home on Sunday, I wonder will he huff tomorrow.
I barely had the energy to get dressed this morning, even though I slept well. I think it's lazyitis I'm suffering from. I'm going to go back to the animal sanctuary tomorrow to see if that cures it.
We had a power cut for about an hour there, I haven't experienced one of them since I was a child!
Only one load of washing to do, but I might leave it until tomorrow so I can hang it outside if the weather is better. Dinner will be chicken, roasties and veg.
judi your dogs look very comfortable : )
lw I hope your dh is feeling better now he's home.
ttftm I don't even know what to say, it scares me that people can be so disrespectful and horrible. You must be terribly worried about your dh. How is your freedom fund coming along?LBM 04/10:j

TTFTM like Caz I don't know what to say to you. It is absolutely dreadful that students can get away with it, and why should your DH and other teachers put up with it? I assume these young people behave the same at home as well, so the teachers have no recourse at all.
Would DH take a couple of weeks off work with stress do you think. I am sure he is a dedicated teacher, but at the end of the day he must think of his own health. I know the situation will probably be the same when he goes back but he really needs a break.
I am also sorry you have had to give such bad news to your team. I am sure they all know it isn't you personally, but it doesn't make it any easier does it?
Hugs to both you and DH and it sounds as though he may need to have a review of his medication to control his BP. Both Himself and I have been on BP medication for many years and have had it changed or added to over that time.
Take care of yourselves
Much love

Lovely bright morning but it has clouded over a bit now.
We went shopping this morning at Aldi and DH bought me some lovely flowers for our 27th anniversary tomorrow
He said he wanted me to have them today because he works early mornings and he wanted me to see them when I wake up. I know he has got me a pressie but he has hid that, bit difficult hiding flowers though..........old romantic
That 27 years has really flown by
LW I hope your DH is a bit better today xx
Molly......... It is time you thought of yourself, now go and get that op booked, so that you have time to recover before Christmas and all the stresses it brings.
dumpling can you ask for a different psychiatrist? If you don't get on with the one you have got you will not make any progress x
Must go and get DH's dinner on for before he goes back to work
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

TTFM I feel for your husband , teaching is one of the most stressful occupations , my DH was a teacher and I wouldn't wish the stress he had on anyone. And he worked in a school with pretty decent kids too, it was the head and senior management that was the problem . I hope things improve for your DH xx
Had a very tearful phone call from Dd2 , it's her first week at uni and I think she is overwhelmed , plus she's tired from all the nights out . I'm picking her up tomorrow for the weekend , she can relax , catch up on sleep and tele and have lots of hugs , hopefully she will feel a bit better after that.0 -
Evening All
Sat in the caravan just outside Louth, just us on this small site, loads of wildlife around us so very pleasant. Keep hearing a male pheasant, and Owls. Had the day at Mablethorpe, small seaside town on the Lincolnshire coast, north of Skegness. Away from the Central part, there are miles of flat sands which dogs are allowed on, Skye has run and run and loved it, and is quietly snoring now. She also met a couple of Cavi's there and said hello, they are ways drawn to their own kind.
Molly. Come on get the op booked. Hope DH can sort out Dads funding.
LW sorry to hear DH's health & hospitalisation, but pleased he is home now.
TTFTM Sorry to hear the work issues, I can sympathise as I had to make a whole section redundant once, many said it was OK for me, but no one enjoys that sort of task.
BB. I saw some coal at B&M yesterday, not sure how cheap/dear. Happy Anniversary.
Judi. Dad was the same with dementia, he would start a sentance then forget what he was going to say, and would just laugh. I tried the family pictures, but he retreated back to his childhood, at one stage I became his Mum!
Jackie0 Good Luck for your op
Tru have a good holiday.
((Hugs)),Spoons, Positive Vibes all round. We are off to Lincoln for te weekend tomorrow. Take care everyone. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
