Getting emulsion paint off shorts

Options
Unfortunately I have managed to get some emulsion paint on my shorts. I thought it would come off in the wash but hasn't. I tried again with Vanish and it still hasn't. Any ideas?

  • Rub in washing up liquid and a handful of sugar , scrub well then wash as normal, it really works.

I'll give it a try and report back. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! Although I used salt instead, still worked. Little girls school shirt with blue paint, first wash didn't touch it, quick rub with salt and washing up liquid then back in the washer, not a trace!

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for this idea.
A couple of days ago we were shopping in Aldi where my OH got paint on his trousers and jacket by leaning over one of their large baskets. The manager was aware of the presence of this paint as she had sent a junior staff member to clean it up. (He was half heartedly flicking a damp cloth about but did not verbally warn us about the mess). On complaining we were given our trolley full of shopping for free with a bottle of wine thrown in {not literally}!
We do still have the problem of sorting the stains, but as the trousers were quite old and almost ready to be relegated to gardening duty, there really is only the jacket to worry about. I will try the treatment suggested.
