Can you freeze aubergine?

In its raw form, that is. I know it'll probably go mushy, but I've got some leftovers and I don't have time or ingredients at the moment to make something with it to freeze. So I was thinking if it was freezable as it is, I could do it in chunks and stick it in a curry or something another time. Would it work, do you think?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I found this on the internet (eggplant is aubergine) so it looks like you can freeze it. http://www.pickyourown.org/freezingeggplant.htm0

Yeah you can, I have before.0

Not quite the same though - it oxidises fast and absorbs a lot of moisture. It freezes well if cooked as a dish (by which time it is mushy anyway).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I remember asda used to sell chargrilled frozen aubergine slices. Delia even did a recipe using them in that cookbook she wrote that used jarred pasta sauce and other expensive items that made quick meals.0
