Do you par boil? I just watched James Martin , he did but for only one minute, I normally do 10 mins, I note some people don't par boil at all. Boiled water from kettle or cold water and bring to boil ? What do you do ? If you haven’t already, join the forum to reply! [threadbanner]box[/threadbanner]

Salmon question
Hi, I cook salmon pretty much every week but this week bought a new ceramic coated non stick griddle pan so needed no oil to cook it in to stop it sticking.. Lots of liquid came out of the salmon, looked like oil rather than fat. What I'm wondering is, is this good stuff or bad stuff coming out? Out of habit I drained it…

Wasp issues. Please help!!
Right I should begin this thread by saying I am absolutely terrified of wasps. Not just I don't like them they scare me senseless.. I am a grown woman currently writing this from the bathroom because I encountered a wasp in my flat and this is the only room I feel safe in now as I figure it'll be too wet for the wasp. So…

Hi Please can anyone tell me how to remove a water tide mark on my brown leather shoes. I managed to step in a deep puddle and although I wiped over my shoe when I got home it left a sort of tide mark across the toe when it dried out. Any ideas ???

Manufacturer Refurbished
I am interested to discover the experiences MoneySavingExperts have had when buying things that are described as "manufacturer refurbished". I also want to understand exactly what expectation they have of who has undertaken the refurbishment and what differences they see between third-party refurbishment and manufacturer…

Using up extra thick cream
I bought a tub of extra thick cream for a cream tea last sunday and still have half the tub left in the fridge. I'm quite fussy on eating dairy so wouldn't want to just eat it after 4 days. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could cook with it? I don't want to just waste it...

45p for 1.5kg flour, can I make half decent bread with this?
I noticed today Asda sell 1.5kg of Flour for 45p. If I were to buy a cheap bread machine, could I make a half decent loaf with this? If I understand correctly I could make 2 750g loaves for £0.225p each (plus maybe upto 10p for other ingredients)? Why do people buy "Bread Flour" - I read I can just add some gluten…

Does anyone still use a mop and bucket
I haven't used the bucket for years, I've been using floor wipes and a flat mop but sometimes the wipes curl up as I am pushing them around but I don't want to go back to the hassle of a mop and bucket and I don't want to get down on my hands and knees cleaning the floor either. Would a multipurpose or floor cleaner be OK…

Working full time & running a house
Hi, In a couple of weeks I'm going to go back to working full time and commuting an hour each way. I've had the luxury of a local part-time job for a year (almost like a gap year for me!), and am starting to think about how to run the house so I don't get worn out and can use the weekends for a break. I could put together…
