This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Good morning everyone
Another dash before work but then a final nice long weekend of the Easter holidays.
Made a real mess of finances yesterday, I stupidly thought we were doing rather well this month but that was because I had forgotten to pay a £200 bill
The strings will need to be pulled tight next month because we are currently also supporting DD and GDD for goodness knows how long.
OK that is my moan over and I am on my way.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning :hello:
Hope you're OK Judi xx

I was so wound up about that milk yesterdayI pointed out that I wouldn't go out and about in the car all day, stop in shops (that sell milk) to buy papers and sausage rolls then drive home and expect somebody else to walk to the shop to buy milk. I was listened to and by the end of the day I had 20 pints – yes really, five four-pinters! – in the fridge

I filled one greenhouse with tomato plants yesterday, I'm going to plant more in the other greenhouse today. The peppers are a bit small at the mo so I'll just repot those and keep them in the kitchen for now. I repotted eight tomato plants and will do a few more today, mum and dad can have those.
I decided on colours for baby blankets so I ordered a load of yarn. It's arrived – that and my ongoing stash (I can't seem to let it drop below a certain amount, lol) means I need a bigger house :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, sun shining with light wispy cloud. Bit of a nip in the air again.
Washing on the line.
DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early.
Dinner last night was chicken in white wine, cream and mushroom sauce, with mash, and veg. Menfolk shared a chocolate from an Easter egg. Not sure what we will be having for dinner tonight, may do chicken and bacon kievs, chips, beans and salad for the menfolk. I’ll have mushroom omelette and salad. On-line shop is due to be delivered later – between 4-5pm so hopefully I’ll get a full order and not too much missing/replaced.
I’ve purchased nephew and nieces Easter eggs, and read the ingredients, youngest niece has nut allergy and easter egg has “may contain nuts” warning, so will try to get her something else today. I have dentist appointment this morning – so will need to get cracking at it’s first thing – at least it’ll be out of the way. On the way back I’ll try to find another Easter egg for niece – if I can’t find one I’ll resort to other chocolate or a different gift of some kind – maybe haribo as that shouldn’t contain nut products.
Work was busier yesterday but still not too bad, so we know next week will be horrendous and the children go back to school on Tuesday – which very often means they drop the children at school and come straight to us – so by 9.30am the office is rammed full of customers wanting to be seen. I do prefer to be busy though.
Have mahoosive pile of ironing, I’ve been washing a load each night and putting on the line in the morning, so the dirty wash basket is practically empty but the ironing pile is a mountain. Once I’ve done the jobs I need to I’ll get stuck into the ironing, as it’s all over the dining table at the moment. I have an idea for a HM Easter cake, I hope to get that made at some point today, would like to get some other baking done too.
Keep safe and well x

Morning Everyone
LW hope you're now home and enjoying your coffee.
Well, after 3 lovely days it's raining again. At least the washing is up to date and only a couple of bits of ironing so wont bother with that just now. House clean and tidy for a change, the builders have gone away for 5 weeks to work down south so there is peace on the street!
Had friends round for dinner last night to meet up with DS2, I made tomato soup and Lasagne, hm biscuits and ice cream for desert. Thoroughly enjoyed it, lovely evening with lots of good chat.
DS2 went to Edinburgh yesterday to apply for his Russian visa, he's off there in a week or so after he has been to Amsterdam. Spain beckons after Russia - what a life! Still, he has saved for this for a long time and it isn't costing anyone anything.
Going for a swim this morning and then hospice this afternoon, I should really get a bag down from the loft as I am off to York tomorrow for the weekend.
Hope you all have a good day, hugs to the poorlies, especially Molly and JackieO. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Sunny here again today, I need to feed the fish in a sec.
I didn't get any sewing done last night, we had DGS over from 10 'til 2 & then swapped him at 2 for the DGS's, I love having them over they are such fun, but at 5 I hit the wall, wall of exhaustion & had to take them home, I drove them home, then DD drove me back & borrowed the car. Fortunately the beef casserole was cooked when I got home, hubby did some spuds & other veg as he knew I wouldn't be able to manege to do any.
I'm ok now after a nights sleep, so hopefully I can get some sewing done today as we are only going to spend some money off vouchers at the local garden center.
MIL had her scan y'day she'll get the results next Tuesday & then we will know more.
Hugs to Molly, JackieO & LW.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all,
I'm sat here with my hair dye on, I've been meaning to do it for days so thought if I do it the minute I get up I won't out it off, it's such a faff.
TTFTM I know what you mean, we've been helping out out daughter since last year, but she should move out in August. I will miss her and DGS but I'm glad she's moving forward and we do enjoy time on our own, even though I love the kids and grand children.
A nice quiet weekend planned. Dd has gone away for Easter weekend and our DGS is in Canada with his daddy.
My middle son goes to Miami this morning with his gf so they won't be calling. So it's just us, with youngest backwards and forwards but he's not too much trouble.
We are hoping to finish the tiling and cross the bathroom off the list.
It's a bit overcast here, I've got to nip to WW this morning, wish me luck then they are bringing me a new curtesy car this afternoon as mine won't be ready until next week and this one is really undriveable. Wonder if this one will be any better.
Anyway onwards and upwards, off to my brothers for tea tonight so a break from cooking, and he always cooks something delish.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi all; have been to the vampire lady, got back here before 07:30. Mr LW got me some Oramorph and put the coffee pot on, and I flaked out for a couple of hours. I'm currently on my 4th mug of coffee!:D I've managed to walk the Princesses :T and Mr LW is going to help make our meal - he's suggested eating our main dins at midday, and popping into town when he knocks off at 17:30 for a few bits we need to save some time and spoons on Saturday.:A One thing I need to get is a new battery for my dragon clock; it's the clock I can readily see when I'm using the pc, and of course it's telling me zilch at the mo. Yes, I know the pc has an inbuilt clock, but that doesn't show on the screen when you're running Skyrim.:D
So, I'm tired and a tad wobbly, but ok. The vampire lady was very good, she managed not to put me through more pain than necessary, was happy for me to lie down (some of them think I'm a wimp for asking) and talked about dogs (she has two apparently) instead of giving me a running commentary on what she was doing. So as good as that sort of thing can be for me, really. And of course Mr LW was with me the whole time.:A
Hoping Molly and JackieO are both continuing to recover well.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afte rnoon all,
Wearing different shoes today and back doesnt seem as bad...might go for a short walk around field later, will see how it goes.

Hello x
Brain feels like mush but generally feel a bit brighter today. Had a bad day yesterday but done and dusted now x
Love and hugs for Easter - don't forget no washing on Good Friday xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
