O/S Daily Friday 18th April - Good Friday 2014
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need them.

Now light, light cloud and dry. Not sure about the temperature – but temperature dropped yesterday and we did have a few spots of rain in the afternoon.

DH up and getting ready to go in to work for a couple of hours. I’m up as I’m going to go to the SM early to miss the crowds, just have a few bits I didn’t want to get until today.

Dinner last night was the chicken and bacon kievs, chips, beans and salad for the menfolk. I had mushroom omelette and salad. I’m hoping to get some fresh fish for me for later, will get battered fish for the menfolk.

Yesterday all the ironing mountain was tackled, and the dirty wash basket doesn’t have enough in it to make up a load.
I’m hoping to get the shopping done, then return home and get the Easter Cake made and baked, so it’s cooling – then I can fill and decorate it.

Had a nice surprise yesterday, 2 x letters were delivered by postie, 1 contained an expenses cheque and the other a ppi refund – nice start to the bank holiday weekend.

Today is my and DGD's birthday:T I am 55 she is 4! We had a party for her last Sunday and DD took me for a spa day on Weds. Seeing her this afternoon, then going out for dinner with friends.
OH is back from New York this morning too!:T Had a beautiful bouquet from him yesterday. All pink and white. Roses, gerberas, carnations and others I don't know:rotfl:

My sister and nephew came yesterday. She hasn't seen me since December, when I was really ill, so it was good to catch up.

Washing on the line, house tidied and I am off to York till Sunday. The most exciting part is going on the train!! Not been on a long train journey for years. DD and DS2 will be here, hope they remember to get the washing in!

Sunny & breezy here, the washing's blowing away on the line & will soon dry.
I finally managed some sewing yesterday & have one dress part made, I'm hoping to finish both of them over the weekend.
Hubby will potter in the garden if it stays sunny, I think it's potato planting today. The GP practice is being recorded & he'll watch it later.
Cottage pie for tea tonight & I'll make a bolognese sauce as well & save that for Tuesday, as I'm back to work then & it's bound to be busy, my tray was stacked high by the middle off last week.

Morning

Lovely sunny morning but can feel a cool breeze.
Off to walk Luna in a mo. Just got to dry my hair and put my slap on.
Had a lovely day yesterday visiting friends. Kids really enjoyed playing with their friends, happy day all round. Didn't get back to quite late so feel bit tired today.
Going to start sanding down and painting the skirting board on the landing. Was gonna start out bed room but we need new carpet laying and given what we have had to spend this month on car repairs, school shoes and new clothes for the kids we shall have to hold off and save a few more pennies.

Not sure what's for dinner, need to go have a rummage in the freezer.

A bit of a lie in this morning and a lazy breakfast. Just a quick tidy round and then we will nip to b and q for supplies and hubby will carry on with the bathroom.
I need to phone my cousin today who is having a bad time
It's a glorious day here, I may even sit in the garden later with my book.
Bitsy it sounds like the kids have had a great time, I miss my lot being little. They are all over the place this Easter, Miami, Australia, Wales, Canada and the Lakes. But I guess you want them to fly the nest.
Going to avoid Easter eggs this weekend, I've already re gifted two:D

What a glorious sunny morning. A few clouds lurking, but always nice to wake up to sunshine. I did manage a late post last night, as I time had escaped me recently.

DH wil be taking Skye for a stroll around the field shortly, while I do breakfasts, yogurt porridge for me and cereal for DH. Then we have Hot X Buns at 11am with a general get together. We had some friends and their son round yesterday, they were not expecting to stay for tea, but we were happy to have them, just did Lidl Scotch Beef burgers in their bread buns, with salad. It went down a treat.

Been mia, (thanks for missing me Topsy xx) have been working all hours leaving the house before 8 and arriving home between 5 + 6 each day so have been very tired and trying to keep on top of things at home too has not left me a lot of time for posting. Three days off now so I plan to have a quick tidy round this morning, nip to Mr T for some easter eggs then home and flop in front of a nice film !


OH is just cooking eggs and bacon and dd still in bed, wm is on with the first load, I think you are not supposed to wash today but with working so much needs must !


I think its meatballs for dinner so nice and easy.
