Do tiger prawns get served with the eggs?
I wonder if you can help sort an internal debate I am having. I ate out tonight and had a pot of tiger prawns. They were served cold and about half of them were served with their eggs caught in their legs. Personally they put me off and I really didn't like the idea of eating them and just shelled the others. What would…

Food Shaming
Just had a conversation with my DH that got me thinking. I almost always cook homemade stuff, lots of fresh ingredients, variety etc etc and I can't stand most overly processed food. BUT, try as I might, I can't help preferring Smash to real mash, an admission which has actually horrified people. So I wondered what other…

Torn leather sofa - repair
Hi, One of my dogs has finally managed to put their claw through the leather in my sofa. I'd like to repair it as the tear is getting bigger now. I'm handy with a needle and thread, and don't mind too much what it looks like as long as it's vaguely the same colour. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to where to…

So, I've identified the bramble bushes, I have a couple of jars to fill and I have some lemon juice in the fridge. My problem is sugar - I have a bit of granulated…

Cutting down on meat consumption
Hi everyone I was looked for a bit of advice really. We are hoping to cut down our meat consumption for ecological reasons. Obviously we therefore don't want to simply be replacing meat with Quorn or similar, as we feel that is defeating the object. At the moment, a 750g packet of mince will do 4 family meals (each feed…
