Help with lemon curd cake

Hi, I have just made the lemon curd cake I found on here and after the forty minutes I put a skewer in and there was mixture on it. I don't know if this is how it should be because of the curd or if it should come out clean like other cakes. Can anyone advise please.

Well I just burnt mineI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I cooked mine at about 170C and covered the top to stop it burning, the knife came out clean when it was ready.0

Hi thanks.
The recipes is
100g marg
75g. Sugar
2. Eggs
175g. SR flour
1 Jar of lemon curd
Heat oven to 180. Grease and line loaf tin
Mix all ingredients
Pour mixture into 2lb loaf tin
Bake approx 40 mins till brown.
I have left it about ten minutes extra and it does seem to be more firm but hasn't really risen. Will have to see how it is when it cools.

is it "properly" cooked on the outside ? If yes but it hasn't risen it might be the oven is too hot.0 -
I will cover mine as it goes brown and set on outside. It just went suddenly. Anyway will taste yummy xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Thanks. I think having tasted it, that I shall try again with a bit lower oven and maybe leave it a little longer. It tastes ok but not good enough to take to other people which is what I was wanting to do. Esther xSecond purse £101/100

It does seem a lot of lemon curd for one cake?
Here is mine which works quite well
6 oz SR flour
1.5 teaspoons baking powder
6 oz sugar
6 oz marg/butter ( I use butter)
3 large eggs
Grated rind of lemon
Mix all ingredients together in food mixer for approx 3 mins. Divide mixture beween 2 7" cake tins( greased and bottom lined) Cook in Gas 3 oven for approx 35 minutes.
For butter icing
8 oz sieved icing sugar, 4 oz soft marg/buuter, 1 tablesoon lemon curd and approx half tablespoon milk.
Hope that helps.xx0
