Veal recipes????
Hi all, I bought a couple of packs of ys veal this morning. I know the ethical arguments for this meat, but i'd much rather it be used to eat than the (mostly male) calves shot at birth and made into dog food. Problem is, i know i like the taste (eaten out) but have never bought or cooked it before. Any recipes, hints or…

Using up jam
A bit of a strange one but... I am trying to run down the supplies as we are moving house in 7 weeks. So far I've been reasonably successful in using up the many packets of cous cous/pasta/random ingredients I bought for one recipe and never really used again. I have one big sticking point though, and it's jam. I have…

clothes and the cold indoors
Hi. I suffer from cold hands and feet particularly but generally feel the cold anyway. We have the heating on low and don't want to turn it up more as no-one else in the house feels the cold as I do. Please can anyone advise how to dress warmly in the house without looking like Michelin Man? I tend to live in jeans and…

A ridiculous amount of food in my cupboards
Today I did a stock check of my cupboards & even I was shocked at how much was in there. One reason that I did this was because I had helped a friend move on Monday & had been shocked at the amount of stuff that she hoards but then thought I am just the same but with food. The other reason was that I always aim for a £450…

What's biting me?
Not sure best place to ask. Hoping the old style collective may have some ideas. I keep getting bitten by some unknown (insect?). The bites are usually in pairs about 1 to 1½ inches apart. They were mostly on my upper back although more recently seem to have moved to neck / shoulders (possibly the additional clothing I'm…

Clocks Go Back ONe Hour This Weekend :-(
Its that time of year again - and I hate it. Driving to work in the dark coming home in the dark. The days getting shorter, nights longer. I feel sorry for guy at Windsor Castle who has a mammoth job of changing hundreds of clocks around the castle to the right time!

Good morning MSE'rs!! Please help, have been away for a few days, when we arrived in Venice, it was much warmer than we expected, so I took off my pink wool coat and draped it over my wheelie suitcase as we walked to the hotel (feeling quite smug on solving a problem!) to discover the collar of my coat had been dragging on…
