Good Morning,
I'm hoping u lovely people can help, I have been poorly recently and my wonderful boyfriend has been looking after me.
I'd like to cook him a special meal to say thank u, however I'm not much of a cook and don't no what to do.
I'd like to spend no more then £10 and have an Asda I'm hoping I can walk to.
Thanks in advance
Xx

What sort of things does he like? £10 gives quite a broad scope.
Our go to treat meal is always, steak and chips, however we don't use supermarket steak it's far too expensive, we buy whole sirlions and freeze.
If your still feeling unwell maybe a dining in for £10 meal would be good.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Hi,
He's really easy going with food, so everything but fish!! He prefers home cooked food, so that's what I'd like to aim for.
I normally end up cooking things like cottage pie, so wld love something more special but still easy.0 -
Had a muse considering yuor budget, probably still feeling a little run down and the wintery weather and came up with a rich beef casserole but the easy low hassle one:
Chuck:
A cheap cut of beef (diced)
Chopped onion
Tin of oxtail soup
Good squidge of tomato puree
Whatever herbs & spices you fancy
Into a slow cooker (or a casserole dish on a low heat), cook all day and serve with:
Mustard mash and some steamed greens & a nice glass of red wine
Hope you are all better0 -
I'm not sure if this is what your looking for. But once I made OH a cooked breakfast for his dinner.
You would have thought all his Christmases had come at once0 -
What's his favourite food? My idea of a special meal is something expensive that I wouldn't usually buy. Mr Pink's idea of a special meal is steak and kidney pie because it's one of his favourite dishes and I don't make it very often because the kids aren't mad about kidneys.
So if you want to make it special think of it from his point of view...what does he really enjoy? Decide on a main course, then add a starter and dessert that will compliment it and he'll be thrilled.
Some ideas for you in these threads:

I know it's not Valentines day, but you might find some inspiration in this thread: An OS Valentine's meal?
I hope you both have a lovely evening and he appreciates the effort you've gone to.

Use any grain mustard and team it up with some good, beef sausages. Yummo!
Any ideas what kinda thing he enjoys most? Personally, if my Mrs treated me to a good stew with dumplings, I'd be on cloud 9...0 -
He doesn't really have favourites, He will eat anything, apart from fish, he isn't too keen on sausage either.
On one of the threads I saw mention of chicken breast in mushroom soup but it didn't have a recipe, wld that go with mustard mash??
Or is there a simple pork casserole, I can do in a saucepan???
Sorry to be a pain
Thanks again0 -
you can cook casarole in a saucepan but it's more like stewed pork, you can pick casarole dishes up very cheap from poundshops of supermarkets do value ranges, i have 5 ranging from a £2 asda value one, to a £15 cast iron one that o got on a glitch and should have cost £70 i couldn't imagine not having a casarole dish.
Chicken in soup is nice, you use condensed soup, if you can find the campbells white wine one it's the nicest and both would go lovely with mustard mash but again i would be cooking them in a casarole dish.If you do decide to go down this route tesco have chicken breasts half price at £3 if you can get to one.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Do you have an oven? Or just a hob? Was thinking about Stuffed Chicken Breast with parma ham and mustard mash.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500
