Help! Daughter's room smells of dog wee.

The dogs have weed on my daughter's bedroom carpet and it now smells terrible. I have cleaned it with my bissel carpet washer but it still smells bad. I have used febreeze but it now smells of sickly sweet wee - even worse than before
I've looked on ebay but the urine - off stuff is quite expensive and I think a will need quite a lot.
Does anyone know of something I an use that will work?
Thanks in advance.

I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Biological washing powder works on cat wee so should be fine for dogs! just mix a bit with water and scrub.May Grocery Challenge -£216/4000

When my dog was a puppy, i used to clean his accidents up with biological washing powder dissolved in boiling water. It takes some elbow grease but it should do the trick .0

Thanks
I knew there must be a simpler solution. I'm getting Sam to help me this weekend to move her bed and give the carpet a good scrub.

You need to pull back the carpet and get to the underlay the underlay needs to be cut out. So if the dog has wee'd in a certain area you will need to cut an inch either side around it. Then if you have spare underlay cut a piece the same size and fit that in. If not carpet shops sell underlay really cheap.
It is the underlay that holds the smell and unless you cut it away you will not get rid of it. It acts like a sponge and soaks up the liquid!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Rainy days, I found this out when we replaced our carpets!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
If you havent got underlay, we found bicarbonate of soda put onto a dry carpet and left overnight we absorb a lot of the smell. We used this on a rug in the kitchen.

My son's dog did the same in his room
I read about using vinegar somewhere (probably on this forum), so I poured a whole bottle of it on the peed area and left if for a few hours. I then put an old towel over the vinegar so soak up any excess and walked over the towel a bit.
The room smelt of vinegar for a few days, but now both the pee smell and the vinegar smell are gone :j
I don't know if there is underlay under the carpet, as I didn't check. It is a fitted carpet and I didn't want to destroy the fitting if I could avoid it.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

We use our Vax with hot water and astonish cleaner, that seems to keep my old girls smell away. If not burn candles or use a touch n fresh. I also swear by nutradol it really kills the smell.Has anyone seen my last marble:A:A:A:A
