Make-Your-Own Sausage recipes?
Hi - really have no idea whether this is OS or not... and I don't suppose it's very MSE considering the purchase of the sausage maker lol... but anyway I was wondering if anyone has any tasty recipes for making their own sausages? Thanks!

Unlicensed (BYO) Indian Restaurant in Essex?
Had some friends stay with us recently, they were surprised you could bring your own (BYO) alcohol into many of our local Indian/Balti Restaurants most of these are unlicensed but there are some which are, and still allow BYO (no corkage to pay either). The BYO goes a long way to cheap meal out. Does anybody know of any…

cleaning wheatie bags
Help please! I have 2 wheatie bags - the kind you heat in the microwave, then use to help sore backs/shoulders/other joints. Despite always wrapping in a towel etc. they have both become rather stained & dirty looking (lots of use over the last year!) Has anyone tried washing them? Or any other method of cleaning?…

Meals for Uni
DD is about to go off to uni (in four weeks to be precise). Anyway on the student forums i have read with shock that many fresher students cant even operate a toaster or a microwave . Now while I am confident mine can manage this and knows enough not to starve, I am keen to brush up her skills in the next few weeks…

Mouldy shower hose
Hi everyone, Please help! I've got a filthy shower hose and it's making me feel ill! It's a silver hose and there's like little bits growing on it?! :o  I've been putting off cleaning it, but it's gone too far now. I can't unscrew the hose, it's stuck tight and I just don't know what to do :( I'll take a photo in a…

Breadmakers - are they worth it?
I generally make my own bread. Mixing and kneading is not a big deal imo - and time is not a problem for me. My only problem comes with leaving it to rise in a warm enough place. Do they produce bread as good as the hand made version? Can you make a couple of medium loaves in one go? Do they ultimately save money - as…

Bugs - any old style repents?
Right once again I have gone to bed only to spend a good 10mins jumping around in my pants swatting Mosquitos & similar with a paper-back! I counted 10 tonight (which has got to be a record after a few days of none). I can't go on like this apart from anything else I'm going to have to repair my ceiling to cover up the…

Any hope for an unripe pumpkin?
Help! Cut open a lovely pumpkin but the flesh is still pale, hard and not very tasty. I've eaten this type of pumpkin (one of the green african varieties) many times before, an it seems to just be under ripe. Is there any hope it will ripen in the fridge, or just go off? what if I leave it out of the fridge and cover with…

Freecycle - Bad experiences
I've put lots of things on Freecycle recently, including a slow cooker, Easiyo yogurt maker, cool box, iron, lamp, sewing machine, tupperware etc. They've all had lots of interest and I've agreed for the first person who asks about them to come and collect. However... no one has actually turned up to come and get them!…

What sort of wooden floor do I have & how to clean?
I'm hoping some clever person here will be able to advise me what I can/can't/should/shouldn't use to clean & protect my wooden floor? I'm ashamed to say I moved in 2 years ago and other than mopping a few times & hoovering, I've done nothing with it! I think I should probably be treating it with some sort of oil, but…

non- stick pan nows sticks
Hello I have a much loved non-stick pan, sadly the lining of it seems to be wearing down in places and its "non-stickiness" is failing. Is there anything I can do to salvage this pan (Cheaply)? Or do I give up on it? thanks in advance
