Old Style Daily Thread for Thursday 23rd August 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 23rd August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
I'm awake stupidly earlybeen doing ok with sleeping in this week, averaging 8-9am, but not today!
I am off out exploring today with my friend, think we are going to a few castles. Before that I need to go for a jog.
OS wise - I made curry last night - I did cheat and use a Tesco value curry sauce in jar (26p!) and got to say it was quite tasty. It made 4 portions, and each portion was just 2 weightwatchers points (only had veg in it). So 2 portions are in freezer, with 4 portions of rice, another 1 plus rice are in the fridge for later in the week. Freezer meal for tea tonight as I've run out of tupperware storage boxes :rotfl:. Dishes to wash.
Have a good day all

morning Flutterby and all who follow!:)
I'm up early as I'm off to work shortly - looking forward to a day out with work to some beautiful gardens for a picnic.:)
Washing is on the line.
House tidy. Flutterby - I sometimes use the tinned veggie curry as a base and its actually very nice if you add a few bits to it.
Sun is shining so far:j
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Thanks Tappers - enjoy the picnic!
Forgot to say, good luck to all those getting GCSE results today

Good morning all,
Sunny here today. Hope it stays that way, well dry at least. We are going over the allotment today. We need to have a general tidy up of the plot. Where all of the cabbages and cauli's were it is now weedy.
Girls are off into town. They are getting shoes, socks, pens etc for school. I dread to think what they will come home with.
Tea tonight is baked liver and onions for hubby and myself and the girls are having cottage pie which was made and put in the freezer.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good Morning Flutterby, Taplady & all to follow.
Up early as trying to get back into my normal routine, only a week and a half till school begins again :j
Today shall mainly be a pottering day, DS is off out later with his mates and DD has work tonight.
Hope to get a load of washing done as the forcast for the weekend is not great
We have fields opposite our house and for the last few nights the farmer has been harvesting the wheat - this creates loads of dust and the house and cars are covered in it. No point cleaning it till he has finished which hopefully he has now - no excuse not to clean it now
Need another coffee now, have a great day all.x0 -

Morning all,
Bright and sunny here, not sure I have any washing to do, will go on a hunt. Dropping dd at work this morning and then collecting mum and dropping her at the station, she is off for a weeks holiday to her sister in Hereford, the rest will do her good as she is very down.
Need to do the window sill this morning and scrape the paint splashed from the window surround, will then go and see dad at lunch time.
Dinner tonight will be ham egg and chips, and I have an ocado delivery thanks to a £20 off voucher :T
Good luck to all those collecting results today, hard to believe its been a year since dd and I went to get hers.
Have good days all xx0
