    Morning everyone,

Taplady have a lovely picnic, hope that the sun shines.

Up early today and feeling really nervous.
DS gets his exam results today and so do all 3 of my year 11 classes.

Will pop back later and let you know how they do.

Good luck to everyone getting GCSE results today.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Really good luck to your DD and all of your classes. Double nerves for you then:eek::eek::eek:

Same here waiting for results. Getting too old for this malarky - 6 years now of nail biting :eek::eek: I guess it is like nappy training - that seemed a relentless task too.

What I will say though is that exams dont define you and the world will not stop turning. There is always another way xx

Need to get a few bits from Aldi today, it shouldn't come to much. We are having a back up month in September, because the bank buffer is getting a little low  it hasn't helped having to have the French doors and side panels replaced because the old wooden ones have finally rotted away :( We got five quotes and they ranged from £1880 to £1190 guess which one we chose :p We have gone with a small local firm rather than the big boys and have taken word of mouth as a recommendation.
DH is replacing a down pipe and hopper today, because he wan'ts to get as many of the outside jobs done now, before the rough weather sets in again (typical Bank Holiday weekend) Still we have been lucky with the weather and had a lovely week away.

Gintomelinda....It is heartbreaking that anyone has to use food banks in this country, especially when some have jobs and can't cope on their wages because of above inflation price hikes by utility companies, petrol prices, supermarkups and the like. It makes my blood boil  and breathe................
Enjoy your trip Didcot is lovely.

    Morning everyone

Hoping all those expecting exam results get what they want/need, and for those that don't get what they'd hoped for - don't panic there's always a way forward x

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Bright and sunny here this morning, but now occasionally clouding over, no rain forecast though. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing on line already.

Dinner last night was roast chicken, mash, carrots, HG green beans, carrots, broccolli, peas, stuffing and gravy, ice-creams for those that had room. Need to organise something for tonight. I'm visiting my friend who had a baby a while back this morning, so looking forward to a chat and catch up.

Will try to sort dried washing, so if possible I will start to tackle the ironing mountain, it's mahoosive, so need to get a grip as the dining room table is groaning under the weight and it's out of use until the washing is sorted! And of course, its Bank Hols weekend and the forecast is c**p! So no line drying this weekend.

We're not away this weekend, and our close friend needs a major favour tomorrow leading into Saturday so will be helping him out - he's been a good friend and helped us out on numerous occasions so have no problems returning the favour.

Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Just popped in to say good luck to all those with an interest in the exam results.

Having changed from high school to primary last year i no longer get involved in the ups, downs and general hubbub that surrounds them.

started work an hour early today so will get off early to enjoy a bit of the afternoon sun, going to walk into town to the veggie stall to get some salad stuff. May pop in the local for a sneaky quick one:beer: on the way back, Don't tell DW ;)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

    Hi all.

Hoping all getting GCSE results today get the grades they want.:o

Surely your DH has changed a bit too? Maybe you were used to him being slim or muscular or having a good head of hair etc.
Apart from being a tad thinner on top, he hasn't actually changed a lot; he's lost a little weight (thanks to WiiFit and home cooking instead of canteen food); but his hair is still dark (lucky bu88er):D.

I think he had some really carppy times before I met him, and he doesn't want anything changed now, iyswim.:D Btw, we met when he was 52 and I was 42.;)

Anyways, I have a box of colour in the bathroom, so he's going to help me with it later, while we're between doggy guests - Derek & Clive have just been collected, and Ted will be arriving tomorrow morning.;)

Mr LW also trims the ends of my hair for me:A - I have an absolute phobia of strangers touching my hair, so I couldn't have a hairdresser do it. I just get a tad fed up with the stuff sometimes - specially when I have a lupus flare and a load more falls out. He's said if ever it falls out so badly as to need a wig, he'll buy me a long red one.:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Nice to hear he is "walking the walk" and helping you with what is needed to keep things the same. Love the idea of the long red wig.

Wonder what dds would make of me in a wig and brandishing a posh trolley?

Going to sort out some dry laundry then have shower and change before putting washing machine on. DD says she is going out later so may just be the two of us for lunch. Have leek and potato soup from yesterday to use up and want to use YS beef for slow cooked casserole tonight.

Very best of luck for those getting results and hope they either get what they want or else find the best way to use what they get IYKWIM.

    Hugs to all
