Best 4 slice toaster to get?
Anyone got any recommendations on which toaster to buy? We need a new one and I've been reading reviews, and most seem to have bad or poor reviews, and I'm not spending silly money on a Dualit! I know this isn't Which? but I do trust old stylers opinions! I want something that is not too massive on the side but…

Cinnamon swirl bread
Anyone got a recipe for cinnamon and raisin swirl bread, the kind that you roll up with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon in the middle I can't find a recipe in UK measures so if anyone has one that would be fab, especially if the dough can be done in a breadmaker :D

Do not refreeze- cod whoops
Hi all, me again  I'm making a fish pie and froze a packet of cod. I didn't notice until I got it out of the freezer to defrost so I could use it in my pie that on the underneath of the label (which you can't see unless you've opened the cod) it says that it has been previously frozen so not to refreeze it. Will…

Unwanted Body Lotion as Fabric Conditioner. Would It Work?
Random thought............... If you added hot water to unwanted body lotion until it was well-diluted , shook it up to emulsify and left it to cool, do you think it could be used as fabric conditioner, either for hand-washing or in the machine (bit worried about clogging?) What do you think? ...... I have tried a little…

proud and less proud old style moment
Over at the non consumer advocate, the author has been admitting to things she is proud of to have achieved but also admitting that we're all human and not always perfect. I think it's so important to pat yourself on the back when you do well, but be humble and admit to others that you cannot do everything. So here's my…

Dilemma - a breadmaker or a new jam pan?
Ok, so the story goes - we had a breadmaker a few years ago (pre-OS & pre-kids), never got on with it, it only made small loaves, took up a lot of workspace, hardly got used, and ended up being given away. Bread is now a big chunk of the GC budget, so we need to save some money there. The other side of the coin - I killed…
