Hi
I got a half price leg of pork from Mr T and I wondered what is the best way to cook it - haven't bought one before
Should I put in my slow cooker with celery and other veg - maybe some white wine, or oven roast?
Any ideas?
Thanks

I think I'd put it in the slow cooker. If you put it in without any water it comes out similar to roasted but more tender.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

You can roast pork leg, there will be cooking instructions for ordinary ovens on the label. Usually about 30mins per 500gms and 30mins extra at 200'c ish, fan ovens will cook a bit quicker.
Don't forget to let it rest for 10-15 mins or so after it comes out of the oven before carving. Add salt on top of the skin if you want crispy crackling-that's if it still has the rind on.Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!

I'd slow roast it in the oven; not keen on slow cookers

A month ago we would have said the same, but having cooked a Boned shoulder of Pork in the slow cooker over the holidays I would have to disagree.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

What did you put in with it? Did it produce much liquid?
I was thinking of putting in some celery, carrots, onions and a little white wine.0 -
