Hi all. I made this cake which is a Nigella recipe. It's completely sunk in the middle and cracked so badly on the top that any icing would just fall through the cracks to the centre of the cake. It's just no good. Does anybody know why??

Old Style 1900's
I've just been googling for tips on hanging washing in the wind (it's blowing a gale up here) and found a lovely website about the 1900's (apologies if it's already been posted). It's childhood recollections of everyday life in a working class family in the early 1900's, written by the owners mother. It's a lovely read for…

A question for jam makers
I like to make jam but unfortunately don't have any fruit bushes or trees so am reliant on getting reduced price fruit from shops, unless, like last week, I get some brambles for free. I usually manage to get whoopsied fruit but this year haven't been lucky. I wondered if it would be possible to make jelly using sugar free…

Ziplock bags
Hi all I've just bought a load of stuff from CostCo including ziplock bags. They are great quality, so I was wondering what everyone thinks of washing and re-using the ziplock bags, even the ones used to store meat/fish/poultry. Is it any different to washing out a plastic storage box or will bacteria reside? Thanks!
