What happened to 'Easy Iron' Fabric Conditioner?

Options
A few years ago you could buy 'Easy Iron' fabric conditioner, that made ironing clothes easier, but also made it so ironing was less neccessary (iyswim). As far as I can tell you can no longer get this.

Is there an OS method for firstly reducing creases in clothes when washing and secondly making ironing easier/quicker?

Thanks very much

I threw out my last iron 2 years ago, that definitely made ironing much faster, cheaper and less stressful :rotfl:

Dry as much as you can outside in a breeze, take the time to hang things flat, put shirts on decent hangers and do up the top button. Yes, there are the odd things that 'need' ironing: my husband's dress shirt goes to my MILs for a press if it's needed.

What daska said ... also using a lower spin speed setting when doing the wash helps minimise creases, as does hanging up/out as soon as possible after the wash cycle ends.

You can still get Comfort Easy Iron, but have found the smell gets rather irritating after a while, my local Tesco and Morrison's both sell it.

It's even available online should u require it

I iron what little I have that needs ironing by doing it when the fabric is still ever so slightly damp. One pass of the iron and it's done.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
  • A fully-loaded washing machine on the high-spin setting is guaranteed to give you lots of creases, especially if you've washed on a high temperature.

I loathe ironing with a passion so I generally wash my laundry in cool or cold water and hang everything up on hangers as soon as the door unlocks. A good breeze outside is a lovely bonus. But if you definitely don't want to iron anything ever, don't buy clothing in 100% cotton or worse, linen. To my mind this is one sacrifice too far. Pure cotton and linen are a joy to wear

I normally wash at 30 degrees with an 800 spin, using 1 tablet and soda crystals. I can't always hang it up immediately as I often put a load on in the morning and get it out after a day at work.

I find hanging things to dry as soon as they have washed and then smoothing and folding to put them away means I dont have to iron much at all.

there's a rinse hold button on my machine, which I use if I want to do the washing and then spin just before opening the door and hanging.
