Sudocream help!

Any ideas how to get sudocream out of hair?

My 2 monsters 3 & 1, have covered themselves in it from head to toe, bathed them which got it off the skin but they have it in there hair which looks very greasy and white! Good job they are blonde, looks like they have been bleached now tho! iv'e washed their hair a number of times with both adult & baby shampoo but its still greasy.

  • The trouble with washing it is it's supposed to be a barrier cream - try blow drying it and rubbing it with a dry towel? - if they'll let you!!

Don't know how easy it would be to do but would a lemon juice or vinegar rinse help?

it's largely waxes so I'm not sure even using a less dilute detergent such as fairy liquid would help that much and I'm pretty sure that lemon juice/vinegar wouldn't touch it. I'd try the hairdryer.

I saw a lovely picture recently of the results of a friend's child getting hold of the new pot of zinc cream on the way back from shopping...

Rub shampoo into the hair neat, without wetting it first, and rub in well till the shampoo goes really thick and white. Then wrap cling film over it and a nice warm towel, leave for ten minutes and rinse out. Shampoo as normal.

It will take a couple of days to get it all out fully though. Ask me how I know....I stiopped buying Suedocreame around then, if I remember correctly.

I was going to suggest washing up liquid too, my daughter used to love putting sudocrem on teddies and that was the only way to get it off.

waxes and oils need neat shampoo or washing up liquid, as soon as you put water on to the hair with oil/waxes on it creates a barrier so the shampoo wont work. So put it on neat. as previously mentioned. might take two or more goes but it should come out lol.... bless em....

My DD did this many moons ago & yes we did take a picture, luckily she only got it on herself & not the whole house as well.

Have to say fairy liquid did work for me - luckily she didnt have loads of hair then.
    Good Luck.
