Freezer frugality
Good Afternoon OS-ers! I am trying to think about how best to save my grocery budget this month as I had to pay £120 to my dentist this afternoon and most of this will have to come from the grocery budget :rotfl:until the insurance comes through for it. I am lucky enough to have a freezer with quite a lot of goodies in it,…

Tray bake recipes
Can anyone help me out here? Some 20 years ago Woman's Weekly (I think) did a traybake special, which included a no bake chocolate recipe, and a rhubarb shortbread type bake. I've found the chocolate one on my PC, but the rhubarb one eludes me. It consisted of a base made by making sweet pastry, cooling in fridge, grating…

Re cooking a half side of salmon
I have just bought a half side of salmon but it is too much for one as my husband doesn't like salmon. It is 700g and says it is enough for 4 people. However, as it is frozen which is the best way to divide it into 4? It says to cook it in the oven but I would prefer to steam it so it def has to be quartered so it will fit…

Fresh filled pasta
I got some fresh filled pasta on offer the other week for a quick and easy dinner. It now needs to be used, I was just wondering what sauces you all use or did you just drizzle with olive oil? It is Cappelletti Prosciutti Crudo & Cheese if that helps with your suggestions. Thank you x

OS barbeque: without the stinky smoke?
It's a glorious day but I cannot enjoy my garden, eat outside, put out washing or even open a window :mad::mad: My otherwise charming next door neighbours are about to fill their small garden (& all those surrounding) with clouds of stinking greasy smoke as they do every decent weekend: they call it a barbeque & seem…

Organic Milk
Hi sorry to start a fresh thread if there is already one for this:o I sat down to have my breakfast a short time ago and found the milk tasted funny. Reducing reliance on freezer (long)
When I was planning our move to the new house, I had it in mind to get an american style fridge freezer to replace our (knackered) fridge freezer and additional under bench freezer. We couldn't get both of them into the kitchen, and the fridge space wasn't enough anyway. However, after ordering my new beauty yesterday, I…

Living out of my freezer!
LOL, not literally! I've dramatically overspent on my grocery budget this month, :o mainly because I'm currently on sick leave, and am eating a lot out of boredom (I've put on 7lb in the last 3 weeks!) With only 5 days to go until pay day, I've decided that I'm not going to do a shop this weekend, and will buy nothing…
