xmas dinner, what did you learn?
Over for another year, tell us the successful tips and did anything go wrong :D Jamie Oliver's way of carving the turkey was brilliant , but messing with the brussels was a waste of effort. More of the traditional Paxo sage/onion went then the expensive stuff from M/S. Waiting for the dishwasher, the rest of the 'mob' gone…

How soon after Christmas Day will you be food shopping again?
This fascinates me somewhat. Despite the food shops all heaving until closing time on Xmas Eve and everyone stockpiling food like it was going out of fashion- the food shops will undoubtedly be heaving again on Boxing Day with trolleys piled high with food. Of course REAL Old Stylers will not be amongst the crowds so soon…

Do you cook your roasties AFTER your bird?
I'm slightly confused about this. Whenever I do a roast, as I have only one oven, I find I have to do roast pots in with the bird and therefore at 180 degrees rather than the 220-250 they really need. I rest my bird for 15 mins. how do the rest of you do it? Some people seem to do roasties after the bird, but as they take…
