OS Daily Thread - Christmas Day 2008!!

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Christmas Day!! This is an “Over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well”, type start does just as well.

...everyone!!
:xmastree:
I just wanted to say that it has been a privilege to get to know all of you and to feel part of this wonderful forum and especially this thread. I have learnt so much about being OS here.
I wish you all a happy and loving Christmas holiday, (however long that is for you!) and look forward to sharing and laughing with you all much more in the New Year.
Festive hugs to everyone..
Diva. xx:santa2:
P.S: OS for today? Am about to put the turkey in the oven – it’s a 25lb beast and we like to cook it upside on foil for a very very long time and just turn it up the right way to brown about 30 mins before the end..:xmassign:

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! I hope you all have a peaceful relaxing day.

Thank you for all the times you have 'been there' during the year, and for all the help, advice, fun and laughs that I have found on here! 2008 would have been a lot poorer without this thread.

I hope everyone is feeling well this morning and, for those who aren't, please get better soon.

Special (((((((((hugs))))))))) for all those for whom this year has been difficult, worrying and sad. I wish you all the best possible New Year.

MSD - cooking it upside will make it nice and succulent. I think turning it for the last half hour will be just right for browning.

It's lovely and quiet here at the moment. We finished wrapping up at about midnight but were too tired to arrange all the pressies around the tree; DH will do that this morning so that it looks really exciting when DGS and DGD get here this afternoon.

Believe it or not, I have the WM on, even though I tried to avoid having to, just for today. DH did a huge pile of ironing yesterday so that really helped while I got all the food organised.

Well, I'm going to put the kettle on for another cuppa.

Once again, a happy, relaxing, safe and healthy Christmas to you all.

Will pop in later to catch up with you all.

Oh, and a Happy Christmas to Martin and the MSE Team; thank you all for your hard work on behalf of the rest of us!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

I hope everyone has a lovely and stress free day xxx

DD snuggled up in bed with me at the mo, we are just waiting for DS to wake up - i am so tempted to go and wake him, but as he has been ill, he does need his sleep, so we will wait a bit longer!! I love Christmas, i think im just as excited as the children!!!

Will be taking the goose out of the fridge in a bit - apparently meat is better brought up to room temp before cooking so thats the plan - i love cooking Christmas dinner, have all the trimmings ready, i just need to peel the spuds. Will be saving all my goose fat for my roasties, and should be loads left over to freeze, so should last a couple of months if we are lucky.

Think i might sneak down and put the kettle on for a cuppa, cant send DD as i always leave chocolates where Father Christmas has been (i know she knows they are there) but its one of our traditions that they collect the chocs on their way downstairs so dont want to ruin it!!!

Well, i might be back later - if not i hope everyone has the day they wish for and everything goes smoothly - have a wonderful time xxxx
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Have a sweet day everyone, particularly anyone feeling alone, unhappy and unwell.

My little bunny, oblivious to Xmas, is bouncing around the house looking for nibbles and opportunities to tear holes in the carpet!

It's my first post on this thread - you're all so friendly.

    HAPPY HAPPY DAY XXXXXX
