    Good evening everyone,

I hope everyone has had a wonderful day - we have!!!

The children have had a lovely time, and been really greatfull for all their presents, which makes it all worth while! I managed to get tickets for the 3 of us to see Arsenal vs Plymouth in the FA Cup, and i thought DS was going to cry he was so happy! Ive had a lot of 'I love you mummy' today!

Dinner was lovely - we had roast goose and it was delicious, and loads of meat on it, so have saved some in gravey for another roast dinner, and 2 more portions for a pie/curry. Ive also got some for sandwiches tonight, and to go with the bubble and squeak tomorrow. I always make extra pots and veg so we can have b & s on boxing day!
Only problem had been the jelly didnt set, so i havnt been able to make the trifle (always make trifle at christmas!!!) so we will be having that tomorrow instead. Im just about to get some snacky food ready for dinner, although how much the children will eat i dont know - they have been stuffing themselves with chocolate all day!!! Christmas day is the only day i let them eat what they like, when they like (the only rule is if they put it on their plate, they have to eat it!!) DS takes me at my word and eats more chocolate than Thorntons, but DD tends to be a lot better!!!

Right, better get moving, i hope everyone has a lovely evening,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Evening All

    Happy Christmas Everyone

Glad it seems that everyone has had a good day. Things have gone well here today. Dinner was lovely and everyone is very happy with their pressies. Have loads of leftovers but have the family coming over tomorrow so some will go then but one of the best bits of Xmas is having a full up fridge for the next few days.

My Dad did upset me on the phone earlier talking about work he wants me to do while he is having a lovely time with my Stepmums family but I didnt let it bother me for long - was too busy preparing dinner.

Anyway just vegging in front of the telly eating chocolate. Am exhausted.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

  • Evening everyone, hope you, your families and your friends have all had a lovely day.
Ours has been sad, my sister's much loved cat died today but it is a story to tell on a more appropriate day.
  • Evening everyone,

Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas day, with memories of absent friends in some cases...

A quiet day here, a nice dinner & just chilling on the sofa now..

  • I've been dipping in and out of this forum for years and haven't posted on the daily thread for many a month. Happy Christmas everyone and my thoughts and prayers go to those having a difficult time at the moment. Yesterday was my daughter's birthday and she was an Angel in the church Nativity play. There was quite a cast as all the children were welcome to join in. They were very sweet in there costumes.
Today we had beef for lunch and then we walked to the park with the kids and let them have a run round to loose a bit of energy. Then I got wet playing 'Splashy the Whale'. It's a bit like Operation except that you have to remove flotsum? from the whales mouth and if you move the tongue it sprays you with water. My little girl loved it. Sorry for rambling on. Something O/S - I made the Christmas cake today. Goodnight everyone.
    Rachel.
  • Hi Guys!

We've had a lovely day and have just gotten back from our friends and had a great evening with them all. There were about 25 of us and ended up playing Charades and of course our team won:D We are so blessed to have such fab friends as we don't see either family at Xmas. They put on a lovely spread.

Our Xmas dinner was gorgeous too. OH popped a plate to the next door neighbour as he doesnt have any family local and is knocking on a bit now and didnt want to leave him out.

DD is out with friends tomorrow and off to Brick Lane for an Indian in the evening. Think OH & I may order an Indian too:confused: I must sort out what we need to take away with us, so I'm just having a quiet day tomorrow. The nurse is out at around 9am, so have that to look forward too:rolleyes:

Anyway, I had better go as Im so tired.

Hope everyone had a great day. Lots of love.

  • Dear heart made a lovely Christmas Dinner.

Little bear is a bit off colour - he has been refusing his usual naps because he has been let to run around in his room as playpen is now a challenge rather than a safe place. So today, of all days, all the lack of sleep caught up with him - he slept til 10am (at two years!) fell asleep on me as I tried to dress him. In desperation I gave him a bottle which he sleep drank and then he went back to bed until 12! Then he had an afternoon nap in his cot and an early night. But he loved his toys. And I have had some lovely cuddles and smiles from him today.

Merry Christmas to all and may God Bless us Every One (or [insert deity of choice]).
