Recommend me an airer please?
I need a stable airer, that is capable of holding the weight, won't fall apart in two weeks, and can hold a lot of washing. This will get a lot of hammer......there are six of us. I've bought two from argos, and they have fallen apart in a matter of weeks, so not very moneysaving  I don't mind paying the money, if…

pudding rice
Hello everyone. Does anyone know where I can get pudding rice, also known as short grain or round grain rice? I've been asking at Tesco and they do have it listed, but they don't stock it, and I have several recipes for making my own rice pudding and I'd love to try them. Alternatively, can we use regular long grain…

How to clean this coat?
My son has been sick all over his brother's dry-clean only coat. The coat is 80% wool/20% nylon and the lining is 100% nylon. Could I get away with putting this on a wool wash? There is no way the dry-cleaners would take it. I have it soaking in plain water at present and wonder if I could risk adding washing soda as it…

Soup and dumplings!
I've got lots of stock left over from cooking a ham yesterday and the flavours used in it (fennel, star anise, garlic, cinnamon etc) are making me think some sort of oriental soup might be good. I was just wondering how much we all spent on our 'Christmas week food shop' compared to a normal weeks shop. I spent £86 (including 4 bottles of wine) for the Xmas shop compared to the normal/average £45 (including 1 bottle of wine) I spend on other weeks. In previous years I have spent around £200 on the Xmas shop, so I…
